Help! - I need low voltage transformer hardwired into 120v line

I have 120v landscape lights running up along each side of my driveway. The away side of the driveway has no low voltage lights, and I'm hoping that I can install a waterproof box adjacent to one of the 120c landscape lights and place a low voltage transformer - with no timer - so when the timed 120v lights turn on at night, it will automatically turn on the low voltage transformer and it's connected lights. So basically the 1 timer I do have connected to the 120v lights will control both. Can I hardwire into the wires running into one of my 120v lights, and find a transformer without a timer and just pass through the power?
Thanks!
