The first think I notice is there is no landscaping to "secure" the house to the ground. I'd place some low shrubs or bushes on either side of the porch, in front of the windows for a start. The birdbath looks a little lonely out there. Perhaps you can move it to the left side of the house where there's room and use it to center additional plantings. You can confer with a local landscape designer. Lots of then will draw up a plan and work with you and your budget.

Hope you're having fun dreaming about your outdoor space! I agree that some simple landscaping could really create an inviting space for the front of this exterior, but fresh paint could make a big difference, too. Pay attention to the color combinations you see on other houses & try playing with color on a website like https://certapro.com/paint-color-ideas/. Or if you're up for something a bit more substantial, you could create a craftsman look over your porch which would give it more substantial curb appeal! I'm not crafty enough to do even a rough rendering of a craftsman look, but accidentally uploaded what I did, so don't judge me! LOL :)

For an easy update, I'd remove the shutters and repaint.

What is your budget for changes? I agree that removing the shutters will help modernize the house. The rest is really all about the landscaping. You'll want some evergreen foundation plantings with a mix of perennials and annuals. Curved beds will break up the straight lines. Is painting possible?
