Mixing Swiss and Blue Cheese?
Comments (5)I'd make a pizza crust, slice some sweet onion very thin, add grated jarlsburg, perhaps sautee some pine nuts in EVOO with a couple of cloves of garlic...add on tip of the jarlesberg and top with crumbled blue. or alternativly...grate the Jarlesbergh, add some crumbled blue and enough white wine to make a "spread' consistency....stir in toasted pine nuts and some dried fruit...I am thinking cherries would be good....and maybe sub cherry kirsch for the wine! Wowser! I am making myself hungry! Linda C...See MoreCheese bits - fondue? Mac/cheese? Cheese ball?
Comments (13)Fromage Fort is done - I can honestly say I love that I had the rosemary crusted Manchego to include, it lends a wonderful herby flavor to it. And I went with 1 clove of garlic, otherwise it gets really strong sitting in the fridge for a day or so. The Moody Blue will probably go on pizzette with caramelized onions tomorrow. I am having a few friends over (they were supposed to come last night, life got in the way) and I am making Ruthannas olive and anchovy bites too. OMG we will all be stinking to high Heaven with all the garlic, olives, cheese, anchovies, etc but we will be in good company so I guess it is okay. Thank you again for all the inspiration, I now have a trove of ideas what to do with left over cheeses! Alexa...See MoreIdeas for Using Leftover Bits of Cheese
Comments (8)I would grate all into the bowl of the food processor, then mix with say 3 8 oz blocks of cream cheese, add some garilic powder ( halt a teaspoonful or more), a tablespoon of worchestershire, a couple of Tablespoons of dry parsley...perhaps some hot sauce....maybe a jag of sherry, mix, divide into 4 or 5 parts, roll into chopped nuts....wrap well and freeze. Save as a hostess gift, or bring out at St pat's day. thaw still wrapped in the refrigerator....See MoreUsing a leftover cheese "sauce"
Comments (3)Alfredo sauce? There are a lot of recipes around that use cream cheese in Alfredo. Even if the leftover sauce has Tex-Mex seasoning, might make an interesting riff on Alfredo. Maybe with some Hatch chiles, too? Or, just make another batch of enchiladas for the freezer....See More- 9 years ago
