I feed her, I walk her, I brush her, I take her for car rides,
Comments (18)When they were teens (17 and 18) we bought one daughter a puppy and got the other a kitten. We still have two pets, tho the younger daughter has moved into her own apartment. That dog misses her so-she waits at the top of the stairs near her bedroom door, hoping DD will come home. She never does. When she does stop by (a couple times a week) the dog goes bananas with joy, jumping and running all around. Even tho I am the one who always feeds her, lets her in and out, brushes her, and allow her to come up on my bed antime she wants. Go figure!...See MorePioneer woman... Comments (2)Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, has a one-half hour cooking show on the Food Network. It airs on Saturday mornings, so if saw it tonight you saw a re-run. This is her second season doing it, and it looks like there will be a "next season," too. I think it's fun how she includes her family and friends, and that it isn't just "another chef spending the entire time in the kitchen."...See MoreWould love to know name of this plant
Comments (3)if i was in this circumstance... i would simply divide the largest one ... w/o needing the actual name ... of course.. after saying that.. someone will come along.. and say it the only plant in the universe .. that can not be propagated .. lol .. thats how my luck has been running lately ... BTW .... if you bought it mass market .. then adds are.. its very easy to propagate .... as compared to paying $100 bucks each for it at some online garden of eden ... which would have been quite an investment for 12 of them ... ken...See MoreMy friend lost her spouse very suddenly & I don't know how to help her
Comments (9)My husband passed and I immediately called my friends and asked for help. They picked me up the next day and went with me to make all arrangements having done the same themselves a few months before. I don't know how close you are. Does she have friends & family around who can help her get through the next week, going to the funeral home with her, making arrangements? Did she call you or did somebody else tell you about it? A friend lost an adult child last year. She called me so I knew that it was OK to step up to the plate. I immediately went to her house and made all the phone calls, checking prices and talking with her about it. She couldn't handle it alone. Is there somebody to do that for your friend? If she has somebody helping her with those things you can either ask that person, or just wait until after the service and visit and talk to her and her children. Next thing, buy her some healthy frozen dishes, preferably home made, for her freezer. Some Shepherd's pies or quiches for example. No matter what you do, I think the worst time is the months afterwards. When you offer to help make a suggestion -- drive the kids to their grandmother? Bring a dinner? I'm really tired myself tonight. I'll think about it....See MoreUser
