Noticed paint stripes in ? satin and flat - was it 'work'? :)

I suppose if you used non-breakable wood initials - if there are 3 - could place them under the pictures... or something else to fill.... is the room already quite full?

They look lonely on that wall--they're too small and high up. I'd add something under them to finish the composition.

If they are there alone, they are too high. Depending on what else you have going on in the room, I might add a narrow shelf for his future trophies etc. Otherwise move lower.

Stand your toddler on the bed. Can he reach the pictures? If so, move them far out of reach.

You could balance with something lower in some of the removable decals in whatever your son is currently into and then change out as he has other interests.

Is this toddler as in 18 months, or toddler as in 4?

Agree that they're too high, but i might just wait a year or two and then lower them. Filling and painting a hole isn't the end of the world.

Hi guys! Should have clarified- my son is 22 months. He will be moving into this room within the next couple months since his baby brother will soon need the nursery (due in 2 weeks).

If we moved them down, do you still think we would need something else on that wall or do you think it would be ok? My hesitation with moving them is the nail holes that would need to be patched. We don't have the paint colors since the room was painted that way (with the different stripes) by the previous owners :/

I'd move them down and closer together. Attach with command adhesive hooks since they will hold the frames much firmer to the walls than a nail will. Then smush a tiny bit of joint compound into the nail holes and touch up with a smidge of paint. Easy peasy! Cute space, btw!!

What if I sort of staggered them to take up more wall space? So either brought the first and third or second and fourth down so the top of them hits at about the center of the others...?

And is there a rule about which ones would be lower and which higher? And how much lower?

I would add something below the pictures that spans the whole length horizontally. Make it something lightweight that won't be a problem if it gets pulled down. You could also use stencils to paint his initials just below the pictures to fill the void.

Also, in regards to patching:

If you don't know what paint color was used, you can actually cut a 3/4" square of it off with a razor, and take it to the hardware store. They can scan it and find a very accurate match. Then you just buy a sample size can for a few bucks.

I think Sherwin Williams actually has an app called ColorSnap Visualizer where you can take a picture of a color, and they will provide the name of their closest match. You can then go buy a sample size at the hardware store.

For patching nail holes, both of these options will provide accurate enough results.

The bad news is - yes, they're too high. But I would also be concerned about them being bumped off (especially if framed with glass). How about a large wall decal placed under the framed prints. Here a few examples I found...

I appreciate everyone's suggestions. I would prefer to keep things simple and not add anything below the pictures. Chances are once the boys get a little older, and we are expecting baby #3 (which we plan to try for when baby #2 is about a year old), we will move both boys into the guest room, which is larger. And the current room (pictured above) will turn back into the office or small guest room. I was hoping for feedback on whether we should a) leave the pictures as is, b) move them lower on the wall, or c) stagger them to take up more vertical space on the wall. I like a simple, clean look. I do appreciate all the feedback! You guys are awesome and hopefully I can figure out an easy way to make this work since baby #2 will be here any day now! :)

I wouldn't stagger them. Moving them lower would be ideal, but then you'll have to try and repair the nail holes. Since the room will only be used for a couple of years, I'd just leave them where they are.

Thanks torreykm! The nail holes aren't super large though... but I guess it would still look sorta tacky to have them showing :/

Just to be on the safe side, I would even remove them. You know toddlers are curious, he may try to stand on edge of bed frame to reach them- don't be surprise lol. You could remove the frames and just stick posters on the wall and put them a little lower.

If they are not glass ( they don't look like it) then lower them a couple of inches.

They are too high but that's entirely appropriate for over a toddler's bed. Don't worry about it one bit--you'd worry more if they were lower, right? I certainly would. Your room is good to go.
