Not so evil, remember your audience, we wish to be seduced into buying more roses, I've already ordered mine.

I wish they linked a page to what was available! Just about all I was interested was gone already. I do hope the sale is successful for them! Any gems anyone recommend that are available I'd love to know. :)

I ordered Paul Neyron and Dupuy Jamain; I am on a hybrid perpetual kick. Also Summer Wind, a single Buck, and Rosarium Uetersen, a Kordes climber. I ordered from Reverence for Roses a couple of times last year and have been pleased with the plants.

Evil? Yes!

I ordered Jean Bach Sisley and Napoleon. I really don't need two more roses...but I'm looking forward to getting them anyway! :-))

Lilyfinch, if you ever want to create a hyperlink, just copy the web address, then highlight the word or phrase you want to associate with that web address, click on the Link thingy underneath the message (far right). The first line shows the word or phrase (text to display), and the second line is where you paste the url (web address) that you copied and want to be associated with the word or phrase on the top line.

I may not have explained it very well, but if you play around with it, it's pretty easy.

Hope to see photos of what everyone gets. AR4R has very nice plants.

PS- Lilyfinch, I didn't link above to 'Blanche Lafitte' because only one plant was left at AR4R, but you might want to see if they still have it... it might be a good rose for you if you have some tolerance for blackspot. I have the closely related 'Louise Darzens', and she blooms a lot- even in the heat; she does bs some, but I just ignore it.

You-all are terrible and late late last night at a weak moment, I succumbed and placed an order. Of course I had to order 4 roses to get that free 4th rose and make the shipping to Calif. worthwhile. I already have a bunch of young roses in 1-gallon pots that need moving up and VERY little space in my tiny garden bed, plus I have a bunch of baby roses that I've propagated that need to move up to 1-gallon pots for now. YIKES!

Oh--and here's what I ordered: Dupuy-Jamain, Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux, William R. Smith, and Maggie. Even with so many roses I wanted being sold out, I changed my mind about 4 times on the last two roses. I have limited sun so I prioritized those that seem to be somewhat shade tolerant, and I am obsessed with fragrance. I already know that some of these roses are far too big for my space but they may remain in pots a good while . . . and perhaps I'll somehow manage move to a place with a great big yard, and more sun. In my dreams!

Sheba, it sounds like "Maggie" is generally a slow starter, which is good news for someone with limited space? Mine is still poking along- sleeping, not leaping, but I did have a bloom this year with very nice fragrance indeed.

I also have a WR Smith, and he is putting on some size. He has beautiful purplish new foliage, and lovely buds. Here's a beetle-benibbled bloom from this summer.

Lovely. Maybe I can start planting roses around my neighborhood in random empty spaces . . . sort of like Johnny Appleseed. I understand that this rose can get very big. : O If Maggie is slowish, that's fine with me!

Roses arrived! Shipped Monday, arrived Wednesday in perfect condition in California. Healthy plants and big. Very impressed with ARVR's great service and communication. Thanks, Fig, for news of the sale. Even with shipping to California, I got a deal on these roses. Here they are:

Sheba I hope you enjoy your new ones. I almost ordered William R. Smith, too, but decided to wait. Thank you, Virginia, for sharing a bloom from yours. I only thought to take pictures once the bands were potted up. The packaging was great and both roses arrived in good shape and generous proportions.

Virginia is right, for me also Maggie is slow and William R. Smith is the largest of the five tea roses I ordered at the same time and from the same place. Be prepared for an exploding rose.

My baby Maggie from ARVR greeted me this morning with her first bloom, and oh my gosh, what a gorgeous rose! I'm thrilled. If I can get a decent photo of the color, which is remarkable, I'll post later. We had some rainfall here on Thursday night--very early for rain here in San Francisco, but so welcome--and the garden plants all looked so happy Friday morning.

Here's the best shot I could get of my Maggie's first rose. The real color is deeper/duskier, and of course the rose itself is in better focus! Fragrant this morning. I really can't believe that such a beauty is growing in my "garden" -- how wonderful!

And for good measure, here's the first bloom I had from Rhod. Jules Gravereaux, who also arrived Aug. 4 from ARVR, and put out this beautiful flower Sept. 30. This bloom lasted a long time on the plant and also after I cut it to take indoors--it was perfect for nearly a week.
