Your kitchen is very pretty:)

If this was my kitchen, I would change out the backsplash to a simple cream subway tile. My fridge sticks out in a similar fashion and I don't plan to do anything about it, but if you are going to change appliances, a counter depth fridge would not stick out so much. I would put a pretty roman shade or faux roman shade over the window. I am not sure what your wall color is - gray or sage - my monitor is not the best for true color. I think it looks pretty - though I might move a step more to the sage as I am not partial to gray - but that is just me. I would change the range vent - but that will happen if you change appliances.

I have a Kohler Whitehaven "short apron" style farm sink, which can be installed on a standard sink base cabinet. If I ever move, I will probably need to change the sink in any new home to a Whitehaven because I love it so much. A retrofit into a previously finished countertop would cost a bit, but it can be done. However, it is not everyone's style. If you change to stainless appliances, the Kohler Vault is a stainless farm sink that also comes in a "short apron" style.

I agree with jnmarie..the only thing that really would greatly benefit from changing is the backsplash, so I'd concentrate of finding something simpler that won't fight with your stone, but will go nicely with it. Hard to see the exact colors of your granite, but yes, on my monitor-seems like cream would work.

You can paint cabinets if you prefer that, you can change pendants, you can put a Roman shade..you don't have to do any of it obviously but if these options appeal to you, then why not. Small changes can make us very happy. Sometimes more so, than big changes.

You'll see whether you want to repaint after everything else is to your liking.

In somewhat prioritized order:

Knobs: Replacing the cabinet knobs is one of the lowest cost ways to change the look of a kitchen. Maybe an oil rubbed bronze?

Backsplash: Replacing the red/pink appearing back splash with new tile would be your biggest benefit. I think cream would go with cabinets/counters but you can try to match to a lighter color that's already in the counter. You can mix it up a little with tile that's a different size than 3x6 . I would recommend against introducing new colors that aren't already present in the counter.

Improved storage: Is that a pantry next to the fridge? Could you put in some different shelving to help you store some of the items on the counter easier?

Lighting: Some people hate overhead can lights, but if this was my kitchen I'd want to add some LED remodel can lights over the walkways. To me it seems like this would be a dark kitchen to work in after sunset. You could also put in new pendants that have a little more height (maybe 12"-15" high). It looks like you have a 9 foot ceiling so your light fixtures can be a little taller (but not much wider). Also if you do the backsplash I'd add under cabinet LED lighting (doesn't look like you have under cabinet lights right now).

Cabinets: You could paint the cabinets an off white if the gold/yellow tint is really bugging you. I can't tell if the current cabinets are oak or maple.

Redesigning the kitchen with new cabinets and counters will end up 2-3x more expensive. I would not go there unless you have the money and want to spend it to get all drawers, full height upper cabinets, an extra sink, and move appliances around. A lot of the above can be do it yourself. Replacing knobs just takes a screw driver. Even if you hire someone I'd think budget could be well under $10K including new stainless appliances (more if you have cabinets professionally painted).

If you do a new backsplash, it will look best if you remove the 4" granite piece too, and tile from the counter up. It usually is not very hard to remove.
