Hi Dave, where can I buy the 5-1-1 mix? My fiddle leaf is in this same state, and like Al always says- I could continue to try to water with improper soil and fight that battle, or I could use soil I know will let me water/drain properly and rest easier knowing my roots are healthy and in good soil. I potted up a month ago but am thinking I'll just repot in fresh, good soil I know will be good for my roots, and then make sure to be on a good watering cycle from there. I just hate to think my poor fiddle is sitting in wet soil it can't handle while the top half is bone dry. I'd like to do it ASAP seeing as it's getting past the recommended time/season for reporting and potting up. Idk, what do you think?

Hi, I, like mostly everyone here, have a little story to tell about my fiddle leaf figs. I have a few of them that have gone through the painful (for me at least) repotting and separating, propagating etc process. I have 10 of them in different stages of growth, and aside from a baby one that's still in process of maturing, all the other ones are doing great. Or so I thought until I notice that some of the new leaves that came out since the repot (followed Al's soil formula found here) have these tiny brown spots and some cracking happening on the leaves. Apparently it's a leaf spot disorder caused by a bacteria, Xanthomonas campestris, which produces tan-to-brown dry spots on leaves that usually have irregular margins and can cause cracking of the leaf in the driest areas. Anyone here dealt with that and has some advice as to what to do and how to treat this? Thank you so much!

Which leaves are affected? Are they the bottom leaves only or all over the plant? Most of the time if it is only the bottom then it is root rot. If so, 1. take the root ball out of the pot 2. remove all affected leaves and rotted roots 3. place the plant in NEW dirt in a pot with good drainage 4. water slightly less than you did before if it is all over the plant, it is most likely under watering. start watering more frequently.
