What you have there is just a leaf with petiole. What you need is a section of stem which the petiole was attached to. The petiole and leaf come from a node along the main stem of the plant. That is also where roots come from. A leaf and petiole on their own will wither away.

Thank you @User and @Tom H. I did inspect the roots during repotting and some were rotten and others looked unhealthy. I did try and cut out as much of the unhealthy roots. maybe I didn’t get it all. I water when the first 1-2 inches of the soil is dry (roughly every 7 days). I water thoroughly and make sure my pot is well draining. the brown part of the leaf is not “crunchy”, it’s actually quite soft. I checked on her again this morning and it looks like another growth is coming from the same stem and it looks healthy.

100% orchid bark is actually not a good media for these as a houseplant. Your plant is underwatered and nutrient starved. You could only have success in that mix if it was in a greenhouse with high humidity and perfectly consistent watering and fertilizing. These are not epiphytes like many orchids, they're hemiepiphytic, which in this case means that even though they grow up and use trees for support, they still send down lots of massive feeder roots and never lose contact with the moist, humusy, rich soil. These really only get overwatered if the pot has no drainage hole or the light is very, very low. Almost any regular houseplant soil works for them. I use a peat-perlite-compost mix. Many growers like to use half good-quality potting soil and half orchid mix (the finer bark-charcoal-perlite mix; not just the medium fir bark). Here is a link to another mix that works and here is another. You don't have to worry about your plant at all, since Monstera deliciosa will outgrow any of these type of bacterial and fungal ailments once you give them good light, soil, water, and fertilizer (I use a light dose of Foliage Pro at every watering). The damaged leaves won't repair, but will be quickly replaced. I would strongly suggest repotting now even though this is not a great time of year for it. Do try to make sure it has very bright light after you repot to give it the fastest recovery.
