LG or SAMSUNG front-load washer/dryer?
Comments (21)We purchased a Samsung VRT front loader and have had no problems so far for about 6 or 7 years. We got it from Sears and when the 5 year warrantee expired I purchased another 3 year plan. Unlike others here at GW we have had good luck with service from our local sears. When I thought there was something wrong with the soap dispenser of our washer they sent a new one right away. Turned out not to be a problem, just a design that didn't make sense. Our Kenmore refrigerator got routine service annually under warrantee and all has been well. That unit is about 9 years old and I only had to replace a dispenser tray in the ice maker not under warrantee, so I found a local repair shop that would install a new one I bought at Amazon for less than their wholesale cost. I have no experience with LG but the only products that have had mostly positive reviews is their refrigerator. To bad too because some of their stuff looks so sexy....See MoreAdvice needed on Electrolux washers/dryers
Comments (1)In the Laundry Forum the consensus seems to be that Electrolux is the best option now for 2nd floor applications if you are going with front loader. They have the best suspension system to isolate shakes. Consumer Reports bases their surveys on self-selected members who chose to reply. JD Power uses a random selection of phone numbers. It seems increasing numbers of Americans hang up on telemarketers, pollsters, and survey takers alike but JD seems more scientifically sound. JD ranks Samsung tops. If I were installing front washer on second floor I would go with Electrolux. Every washer has a fair number of bad reviews if you research enough. Even the laundry forum's beloved Miele. Miele no longer sells full size laundry units....See MoreWasher and dryer: Deciding betw Electrolux, Bosch & Samsung
Comments (17)I have the Electrolux and love it! The IQ does have the steam. I bought the Wave Touch 5 months ago and can honestly say, it is the best on the market. Electrolux really stands behind there product. They know they have the best machines, thats why they don't discount them. The new model of the Wave touch is out now and has double the cycles that the 2009 model has. especially more steam cycles. Its model # EWFLS70J also, the washer is now 5.1 instead of 4.7. If you can afford the Wave Touch, you will never regret buying it, trust me. These machines actually makes doing laundry fun. Especially the fact that you can put the light on while the machine is running and the Fast Wash cycle is only 15 min now on the new model.. amazing!!! go buy it! you wont be sorry you did...See Morefl: samsung, electrolux, whirlpool duet.....help me pick!!
Comments (17)You're both so welcome! Susan...I'm a research fiend and tend to over analyze every single product that we put into our home (we just finished building our own house). I call it being persnickety...DH calls it anal. LOL Hosta...I'm a major bargain hunter. :o) I picked out the washer & dryer that I wanted and then started searching for better deals. I actually purchased the pair on eBay for $1100 which included shipping (no tax either!). They were dealer overstock. Everything was brand new in the unopened manufacturer's shipping crates/boxes and was delivered on pallets. I also got the pedestals that go with them from another seller in Canada for $55 each. I did have to pay about $70 to have them delivered, but the cost still came out to less than half of what I would have spent at Lowe's. :o)...See MoreCarl Mercier
