Linear gas fireplace -- who has one?
Comments (5)Thanks for the input. We are finishing our walkout basement and it was originally my husband's idea to do the linear gas fireplace. Since out home is otherwise traditional, I was first not sure about going with such a transitional style -- but I am warming up to the idea. Pricklypearcactus, thanks for the link -- I had looked at houzz already for inspiration. We are torn about wheather to use marble, or stacked stone on the wall w/the fireplace or not. We have decided to just paint that wall an accent color (chelsea gray) and see if we think we need to add stone. We went with a model by Heat & Glo -- it is a radiant fireplace so does not have a blower, but still does throw some heat, we're told. I'd still love to hear from anyone who might have one -- or who has thoughts. I hope to post pics once it is in and room is finished....See MoreRealistic linear gas fireplace with horizontal direct vent?
Comments (1)Anyone? Framing starts tomorrow, and if we have to go to a vertical vent we have to change part of the window order and the framing as well, so it is a rather pressing matter. Thanks for any advice or options you might have!...See MoreLinear gas fireplace in Florida
Comments (0)Hi all. We renovated our mid century modern house here in Florida and are struggling to find the right linear gas fireplace, circa 72"". We will be venting it out of the chimney of an existing wood burning fireplace and we don't want the heat at all, in fact we would prefer cool glass. The dealers here are all pushing the brand they distribute and all of the dealer prices seem insanely high compared with what we can buy online. We want a quality unit, just don't want to spend a crazy price. Any suggestions on a brand or model - or even an unbiased site ? Thanks so much....See MoreHow to choose gas linear fireplace brand?
Comments (19)Linear, as it was explained to me, means the "rectangular" shape, instead of the almost square shape of traditional angles. That is, the fireplace is wider than taller. I kept researching and so far I'm leaning towards the Regency New York. I like that they come with a double glass, which makes the outer glass not super hot (thus safer). That means I don't need a screen, which I don't think look very nice. But I learned that there is a fan that blows air between the glasses, to cool it down, so I'm a bit concerned about how loud that fan might be. I need to go back to a store and listen to it, again. I wasn't paying attention when I last visited. Does anyone know about this brand/model?...See MoreDONATO BUILDERS INC.
