Modern hybrid daylilies are no problem at all to keep confined to a reasonable territory. Just like whitewater said. They increase fast enough to become something to look at but not so much you'd call them weedy. They generally are not reproducing at all by seed, like the orange ditch ones would do. There are many people that grow daylilies as a specialty. You might consult craigslist or locals knowledge about horticulture, or a Daylily society and see if anyone in your area is growing them. If they are, you can go when they're in bloom and pick them out, knowing exactly what you are getting. It's a very fun way to develop a collection. There will not be much variety, if any, at most garden stores.

Finished! I really like the way it turned out. I painted the down spouts as suggested, painted the front patio and walkway a darker green (with sand for traction), of course I removed the shutters, replaced the 4-panel hideous front entry door with a two-panel door, added a Baldwin solid brass/polished nickel door knocker (very heavy) that was ridiculously over-priced at $80, added a Baldwin Evolve handleset (embarrassed at its cost)—same finish, Baldwin calls it “lifetime brass”. Removed the ceiling fan and replaced with matching porch lights controlled with Alexa and Smarthings, painted the garage door the same color as the siding, repainted the garage lights and decorative “A”, touched up and repaired where necessary..Wa-la! Real proud, thx all!

I love the balance the existing door brings to your space. You could perhaps work around the furniture placement issue by floating some of the furniture pieces, rather than having them all along the walls. If you post pics we could help.

Oh wow, it's really hidden! lol Your furniture plan for the porch sounds lovely and I imaging having the door tucked away adds a nice sense of privacy and security. What about removing/relocating the bushes in front of the porch? Removing them might make the space look larger and more welcoming where as now they seem to make the space small and dark. Maybe swap them for some flowerbeds. It doesn't sound like you'd want to take on awindow-to-door conversion but it would look really great if you did. You've got a lot of space from an exterior view and having the steps lead up to the door would look very welcoming. You'd also have to consider what's on the other side of the wall and how that would affect the layout of your porch furniture, too (I'm sure you've already thought of that though).
