FOTESS July Yard Sale!
Comments (128)Shirley, this was a great idea and it seems that everyone had fun. I too vote for doing it every year. I did notice so many of my flowers were taller this year. My red bee balm was over three feet and then the wind knocked it all down. I need to get out there and clear out around it and set it up straight. Things are so busy around here that I am not getting much done outside. Doesn't take long for it to look a mess. On a better note, I just finished my first cucumber of the year and it was delicious. This was only my second year of success with them and last year, I only got one. I am full this year so can't wait to try my hand at refrigerator pickles. My tomatoes are full as are my jalapeno and tomatillo. Gonna make some great salsa this year. Thanks Shirley for another great hosting job. Margo...See MoreLighthouse Keeper Nutcracker
Comments (12)I don't want to keep his new owner waiting too long for him to come. So I'll have DH pull out a name tomorrow night. Since it may be only Betty and Gardener, I'll put your names each on about 10 pieces of paper and mix 'em up real well so he'll have something to move around and draw from. Wish I had a pair so you each could have one! Betty, I remember your beach table. It was so neat. And you must know my DH well, LOL. He's always saying "whatever you want", or "whatever makes you happy, Dear". It pays to be such a good golf widow, LOL. I NEVER complain about him on the course 6 days a week! That makes him a happy man! I'll check on here for the last time tomorrow evening, around 8 my time (Phoenix). Then have him draw a name, and post it tomorrow night. hugs, Karen...See Morelighthouse table topper
Comments (19)Thanks for all your nice comments. I'm not sure how my mom will like the bright colors, but it sure does scream summer! Biwako - I made her a 4th of July table topper (she specifically had asked for a centerpiece to put her flowers on) and she told me she's been displaying it on the couch, so this may become another "couch hanging!" I love small projects that I can finish in a day! And the backing - I picked it up yesterday at a $1.50 FQ sale - it was one of the few novelty prints they had - so I guess it was fate. --Amy...See MoreWhat Quilting Goodies did Santa Bring??!!
Comments (18)Dh and I decided to spare each other the 'going out to shop for something you may not want or need' experience this year. We've just decided to wait until the mad rush settles down in the stores and go out and buy ourselves a goodie. I need a new purse, and I'm sure to want something quilt-related from the fabric store when they start marking down for clearance. I already bought a new, more powerful sewing machine a month ago......so I'm not feeling particularly 'needy' in that respect. My Dear G'son pulled my name in the family gift exchange, and got me a gift certificate to the local kitchen store. I have to admit I am as addicted to cooking as I am sewing, and I'm sure I'll have fun shopping there....See MoreGooster
