Delta shower valve - cold water limited?

MizLizzie

Recently renovated master bath and installed the Delta Cassidy line. We put this thermostatic setup in the shower. Yesterday after hot yard work, I wanted a cold shower. But no matter how far I turned the handle toward cold and waited, the water would not run cold. I couldn't even get it tepidly warm. Everything is tiled in with no rear access to the valve. Our water heater is set high, so SOME cold water is getting mixed in. But not much. Can this be adjusted by removing the valve trim only? My contractor thinks it can, but I am worried. And if it can, will this limit how much HOT water we can get? I guess he will send the plumber. Again. This job has been dogged by bad plumbing. This will be their seventeenth trip to repair, redo, or replace stuff. Including my downstairs ceiling, which was pristine when the job began. Anyhoo, appreciate any guidance.
