I have some pics to share finally...Yay!
Comments (10)Thanks everybody! The little bug on Bitsy is a baby katydid, and I seem to have a lot of them on my daylilies. They must like the pollen or something, they don't seem to hurt the flowers. Dragon's Orb opened up at night, and was fully open at 7 am when I took all of the pictures. I love purple, so I have a lot of daylilies that are purple or have purple. I love the whites too. RP's scapes are nice and tall, branched well and full of buds, I'll see her blooming for quite some time. Blueberry Sundae opened today for the first time in the two years I've had it, and I'll post a picture of it later. Karen...See MoreJust have to share some pictures
Comments (13)No, they are shade plants. I started with a tray of 9 green and white, 9 pink and white, and 9 red and green. I started at the bottom of the bed in the spring of 06, then last year, I took the ones that had reseeded themselves between the stepping stone at the base of the bed and along the railroad ties and planted them up at the top. They were tiny babies but grew so rapidly. In early March, I cut them all back and was surprised at how well they had filled in. I actually have Hydrangeas in some spots and I had to thin the Polka Dots out so the hydrangeas could get some light. They do make a great groundcover. They don't seem to mind being stepped on. Well worth the money and time to transplant....See MoreFinally bloom time in Upstate NY
Comments (20)I have a few more to share today - the weather is lovely this morning, although I wish we'd get some rain. Hyperion, FFO - a wonderful oldie Unknown, from a White Flower Farm mix I bought years ago. It reminds me of 'Siloam Ury Winiford.' A dark bitone seedling, FFO today, tall and sturdy. I love the dark, wide petals. We'll see how it develops. Yet another yellow seedling. Pretty; I'll watch it. I can only keep so many "pretty yellow seedlings"! I'd rather have a handful of different ones to keep. The extra yellows can go grace my friend's farm. I have a muddy dog seedling, too - gotta get a few of those just by the law of averages, I suppose. Not quite as homely as the legendary "Doody Pants" and "Brown Trousers," but definitely not "AHS Next Top Model" either, lol! Laurel...See MoreFinally some pictures to share!
Comments (20)superchick~ I've been mia from this board for several months. I try to get on here now and again to sortof "catch up" with progress. So thrilled to see you are finished with your build. Your home is truly lovely. So many nice touches! I especially like the plantation shutters you chose.... such a nice, rich color. I agree that they really add that special "touch" to your spaces. I also am totally jealous of the fireplace in the dining/breakfast area. Lucky you. Can you see it when you work in the kitchen?! Your laundry room is one of my all time favorites. that red wall color is gorgeous. Now I'm wishing I would have done RED walls with white machines. I did red machines and still can't get the walls quite "right". :o) Congratulations, and many happy years to you and yours in your beautiful new home. So happy for you!!! Everything turned out great....See Moreroselee z8b S.W. Texas
