I believe my town has about one of the highest rates in the country. For the two of us it runs around $140. Should I use any water outside the bill tops $200. $350 was my highest bill that was two years ago. This in a town where a good 65% of the people are well below middle class. Sad to say there are families who can't even have a little splash pool for their little ones the water is to expensive.

Two of us here it runs $69 during most months then $79 per month during summer months... That's water & sewage costs combined...

For me about $120 in the summer, $60 in winter including sewage and refuse. The summer bill reflects both increased watering, plus leveling off the pool.

My brother in N. California pays a $600-700 bill....

Our water bill on average per month is about $75-80. Last summer my july & august water bill were $250 each month. I had a lot of new plants & trees during a drought :(. I would do it again this year if need be. I had spent a few thousand on trees & plants, couldn't afford to lose them. So the water was a necessary cost.

Here water is my cheapest utility, but it's my property taxes that really make me mad at expenses. And they just went up again, ugh!! Those are $445 a month.

Mine in the off-season is about $45-50. Now it's creeping up. Was over $70 last month. I expect it to get up over $100 now with this heatwave. I guess our prices are pretty reasonable. Paid about the same even during the drought the last couple of yrs. Of course, I was told I'm the 25% highest usage group.

We pay about $35 a month for sewer, $50 a month for garbage pick up, but nothing for water as we are on a well. Thankfully we've not had issues with the well, even in dry years.

My last water bill was the minimum charge of $24.55, usage was just under the minimum, I'm sure the next one will be higher, the last bill did not reflect any watering.

I pay 50$ a month for city water.

In the winter about $75 for water, sewer, and trash. In the summer close to $200. I'm hoping that many plants, now on their third year, will require less water than in the past.

BenT my curiosity is piqued. Does your brother have a pool? $700 is a pretty hefty water bill.

Interesting to see what people pay for water around the country, which got me curious as to my own water consumption.

I used about 34000 gallons of water last June to December in Boston.

I just paid my quarterly water bill yesterday. For the three months of March, April, May it was $151.00. But they announced a raise in the paper last week so who knows what it will go to. And the summer months of June, July and August are always my highest water bill because of the roses and the garden.

Being in a suburb of Detroit I know I pay to help subsidize the city's water. I have a friend in a small town up north and she pays peanuts compared to mine. But I wouldn't trade. I like city living.

We have a well so there's no bill for water and the electricity to run the pump is insignificant. The cost of the well & pump 15 years ago was $4,000. The pump is probably approaching the end of its life expectancy, and a new one will cost about $1,500. No sewer bill either since we have septic, which needs cleaning every year or 2 @ about $250.

Another advantage of well water is that in our town, we are not subject to outdoor watering restrictions during dry spells.

My winter average is $65 a month and summer (June-Sept) average about $225 per month

You are lucky, we pay everything separate. Water is around 60 in winter but we get it every two months. Summer can go up to 100. Garbage is around 80 every two months and sewer is 54 every month.
