Take 5 - Summertime
Comments (5)Thanks, Sally. It only took a couple days to make. It probably would only take you one day. @:) Beverly, I thought those melon slices added a bit to it. The strawberry fabric has a blue background so used it for the narrow border to help break up the red. There aren't any plans for it, so it'll go into the stack. Comments (38)new2quilting, I am pretty sure I caught you are Amy? I for one am not laughing, when I was new I didn't dare ask what a fat was, hehehe...I looked it up on google...then I still wasn't quite sure! Of course you are welcome to join, as is any new or more experienced forum member! That's why I like these types of swaps, it gets anyone involved in the swap experience, is no sew, fun and easy! Ladies, this I can see is going to be another big swap, as was the doldrum swap! For me to keep and divulge all the information is a bit overwhelming, so here is what I am willing to do to hostess this. First of all, to avoid taking over the forum, I will post a sign up on the conversation board...I will start two threads, one with swap guidelines and sign up, the other as a getting to know me thread. Here you will post your preferences, something about you, to help your swap partner find a neat gift for you. It will be up to each swapper to post there and to look there for your swapper. IF you find your swapper hasn't posted their info, let me know and I'll give them a little nudge to do so. This will let me keep an easier database of names, without the personal info. For contents, looks like the general population is interested in 3 fat quarters, a recipe and a gift. Is that right? I think the mug idea Gillian got from a swap we did a while ago, and it was neat, but does raise postage. IF you would like to get a new mug, put that in your info! How does this all sound? I'll be putting guidelines and sign ups up sometime today, have a few things I need to do first! Thank you! Lisa........this is going to be fun!...See MoreSummertime Desserts
Comments (39)Suzyqtexas, here's my pavlova recipe: Note: I usually bake mine on a greased and foil lined (and grease the foil) flat tray but you can also bake it in a greased 8" springform pan. Put the oven on to preheat to 450F. 6 egg whites 2 cups superfine sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually beat in sugar at high speed until you have a very stiff glossy meringue. Quickly fold in the vinegar and vanilla. Pile onto the baking sheet in about an 8" circle and make a slight depression in the top. Place into oven, turn to lowest temperature and bake about half an hour or until it just starts to colour then turn the oven off and leave the pavlova in there until the oven is cold. Top with one cup of heavy cream, whipped, and fruit....See MoreFalling into Spring
Comments (2019)Jim Yes I they take a week to answer emails. I talked to them by phone. 805 445 9001. They are very busy and don't like to receive phone calls. The phone number was on my receipt. I give it to you in confidence if you need it. If you put a food color in the hose end sprayer then you will see when to refill from a bucket to the hose end sprayer. I used it from a bucket to twenty watering cans. Good luck and write it down on paper how you are going to apply so you are prepared. Titian Trish I am so glad that you saw Paul Gautschi. He uses the tree trimmings with leaves and pine needles. He calls them wood chips. And also the composted manuer. I also watch Paul Gautschi once a year. No need for all that chemist stuff and NPK and all that gardening by numbers. I just mimic nature. I am so thankful for you all in this thread. See you in the Summer Thread....See Moremustbnuts zone 9 sunset 9
