ooh..some good ideas going here! My fav summer drink is sweet tea, which I have not found other than premade, so we could do a drink or recipe, mug and 4 fats? Keep the ideas coming!
this looks like a go, so I'll do sign ups the middle of this week. Since this will be a neutral swap (meaning we won't have to worry about sugar free or candy preferences) then you should be able to start shopping whenever you like! I'll give 1 week for sign ups, then get names out...should give plenty of time!

I'm interested! I really liked the winter swap. Not interested in a mug, though--and that would probably push the postage way up. FQs, recipe, and a little surprise? Maybe a favorite quilt block pattern? Just a thought...

I love the sound of this idea . . . I'll see what the final guidelines are first though, as I'm in Canada which can make snacks, or larger packages, or other things more difficult :)

just checking in before doing a few things....Cziga, with the winter doldrums I tried to keep Canadian swappers together to help with the whole customs thing. Keep the ideas and opinions coming! By the middle of the week I will post the guidelines and all can decide whether to be involved or not!

I'd like to join in. I second the no mug idea. But love the thoughts of a surprise. I'll have to think on this to see if I can come up with any other ideas.

I third the no-mug idea. Heavy, and I'm too fussy about their shape, weight, and the colors on them. (What an ingrate, huh?!) But a recipe, or a pot-holder or other small quilted object, needles, thread, favorite pattern, pincushion (I've been meaning to experiment with biscornus, myself.), or any other small inexpensive thing would be fine.

Count me in. I'll watch for more details.

Do we get any idea as to what colors, style, period, and/or scale of fabric our trader likes? Us new kids don't necessarily know that much about other members yet and there's a whole lot of fabric choices out there! Maybe I should just wait for the details, but I'm probably in. new2quilting, I am pretty sure I caught you are Amy? I for one am not laughing, when I was new I didn't dare ask what a fat was, hehehe...I looked it up on google...then I still wasn't quite sure! Of course you are welcome to join, as is any new or more experienced forum member! That's why I like these types of swaps, it gets anyone involved in the swap experience, is no sew, fun and easy!
Ladies, this I can see is going to be another big swap, as was the doldrum swap! For me to keep and divulge all the information is a bit overwhelming, so here is what I am willing to do to hostess this.
First of all, to avoid taking over the forum, I will post a sign up on the conversation board...I will start two threads, one with swap guidelines and sign up, the other as a getting to know me thread. Here you will post your preferences, something about you, to help your swap partner find a neat gift for you. It will be up to each swapper to post there and to look there for your swapper. IF you find your swapper hasn't posted their info, let me know and I'll give them a little nudge to do so. This will let me keep an easier database of names, without the personal info.
For contents, looks like the general population is interested in 3 fat quarters, a recipe and a gift. Is that right? I think the mug idea Gillian got from a swap we did a while ago, and it was neat, but does raise postage. IF you would like to get a new mug, put that in your info!
How does this all sound? I'll be putting guidelines and sign ups up sometime today, have a few things I need to do first!
