Maryl: the first time I grew them we lived in the city and I grew them in containers as annuals. I gave some seeds to my neighbour and she planted them in a narrow bed between her paved driveway and the house, they reseeded every year. I'm assuming it was because of the warmth generated from the driveway and the house. I've had them here (we moved to a farm) and still grow them, this time in the flowerbeds. I've never had them reseed. I winter sow them each year and they seem to like that. Blue annuals look so nice with the daylilies. Next year I want to grow more. BTW, I forgot to mention Highland Lord is really a bit darker and more velvety looking than in the picture. Marg

Gorgeous! I see that you have many of those big hosta in containers. Do you repot them frequently or just keep them in the same container for life? I'm starting to keep mine in pots for various reasons and I'm still unsure about how to maintain them long term.

The first plant is Lakeside Anything's Possible. It will change a lot over the growing season. It is a very large plant. It has a wide green margin with yellow and a few white streaks in the center.It is very different from Rhino Hide. I am not familar with Stewart's Stiff Upper Lip. I will look that one up. I was wondering what the upshot was of your last appointment. That is a long time to wait. My DH put his off until he literally couldn't walk, so we got in for surgery in about 3 weeks from when he went down. It pays to get the best though even if you have to wait. One of our friends is a nurse who says she can tell by the shape of the scar who the doctor was.. Who knew you would get a "signature" scar? I know you will do fine as you said you would do the rehab........Your daylilies are delightful as usual. Fighting Fire takes the prize for me this time around.........Maryl
