Comments (134)Finally got my box out today, or should I give my hubby credit as he actually posted it for me today. Things are crazy as my oldest is getting married this Saturday and I volunteered to do a few projects here at home to help out. Why, why, why????? I made cookies for the cookie table and chocolate covered pretzels for the candy table, (a tradition in the area where they are getting married). Then I agreed to make little paper flowers that glue around the top of a toothpick to fancy them up. Again, why, why, why?????? The toothpicks still need to be finished and then a ton of ironing, and then the packing, and then the gardens need to have a little tlc. All before we leave Thursday morning. My husband and I did treat outselves to some dance lessons so we could be prepared. I have never really cared to dance and part of it was we really didn't know what to do on the dance floor. Can't say as we do now but at least we can fake it. Here is the DC for the box 03080660000088961649. Of course, it got hot the past few days and I wish I had gotten it mailed sooner. I am hoping for the best for the plants I sent. I did send extra so the chances would be better. Hope Amy likes it all....See MoreSchool's out for summer....
Comments (4)Jen, LOL...Funny you said that, ran into the owner this weekend and he asked me what I was doing this summer. I said looking for another job and he said hmmmmm. I told him I needed a career again, not a summer stint. He said well what you doing next weekend and the next and the next. I said hopefully NOT working here..:) Anyways, we had an awesome time this weekend, weather was perfect, we saw 2 blue herons flying on the lake in front of our site, they were around for a while looking for fish. Saw a dead deer on the side of the road driving back, I always hate that. I wish they would at least give them to a shelter for people to eat. Our dog met 2 new friends, someone pulled in from Virginia and had a beautiful Golden and they played for hours. Then we came home and worked in the yard all evening putting down mulch, weeding and planting flowers. My sons girlfreind made a great dinner, it was a good weekend. How was yours? Glad you had a good time on your trip the other week too. Jerry, No sporting goods store for me, no way. I would be their worst employee I'm sure. I work in the medical field and plan on staying there. Hubby can fend for himself. :) Lynda...See MoreSchool's Out (or Nearly)...
Comments (1)Sounds like a well planned summer. I always used the summers with our violinist to really improve her skills for the orchestra the next fall. With fewer demands on her time in the summers, she really moved ahead every vacation in her violin skills. She started the violin in 3rd grade when she learned along with her classmates. Every 3rd grader in our school district learned the violin, and she had been looking forward to her turn in 3rd grade. She was concert mistress in 8th and again in 12th grade. I feel certain that her musical prowess opened college doors for her....See MoreJune FOTESS Swap - Summer School!
Comments (259)Hi Everyone, I'm finally home! And can I just say that coming thro Toledo on Interstate 75 was the same miserable experience it has always been. Never changes. These people need to work on their detour skills. Had a great visit with the granddaughters. My daughter and her husband just bought their first house, so there was a lot of packing, sorting, running back and forth going on! It's a nice little house in a great neighborhood, same school district and Tabitha is so excited - she gets to ride the school bus! Where they live now is only a block away from her school, so she had to walk. And I got to meet my grandcat, Aurora. Very pretty cat, American Tabby mix, quite nice and it only took her a couple of days to get used to me. Okay, let's take care of some swap stuff! First of all, a huge Thank You to Jeanne for covering for me. And at the last minute too. This visit was supposed to happen next weekend. Jeanne, I owe ya one! Thank you! Robin, Beth and Heidi, thanks for sharing the pics, your flower beds are just beautiful! Great Haiku, Robin! Congrats to Katie and Emily for guessing #s 2 and 5! Erica, how great it would be to walk out to my back yard and pick lemons! Margo, we got rain 3 nites in Kettering. The girls drew a picture of me with their chalk, on the sidewalk, and were really bummed that the rain washed it away! Breanne, so glad your sister had you to retreat to! Saying prayers for the flood victims. Melinda, hope all is going better for you. Please post when you receive. Here's an update on the Swap: Erica REC'D Katie REC'D Emily REC'D Margo REC'D Breanne REC'D Heidi REC'D Robin REC'D Beth REC'D Amber REC'D Amber sends to Melinda Amy REC'D Shirley REC'D Faye REC'D Okay, I'm going to finish unpacking and get some dinner. Got to check out Katie's swap too! Later, Shirley!...See Moremamapinky0
