What's Your Prettiest Rose Today
Comments (38)brought home Scepter'd Isle last night. An 'adoption' mission. Gave her a good drink of water and was rewarded this morning by a big perfect bloom, the only fresh bloom I have right now. If only people were HALF as grateful for the kindnesses they receive in life......See MoreWhat Is Your Prettiest Rose TODAY?
Comments (92)For Betty, or b2allicia (z5a Colorado): The picture you posted and asked if anyone can indentify your rose - my guess is Paul Shirville. I'm in zone 5a and looked up on hardiness, and Paul Shirville is the closest match. He's listed in Encyclopedia of Roses as hardy to zone 5. If your rose is fragrant, it's a good bet. I second "Christopher Marlow" as the prettiest rose, and the prettiest bush, 100% healthy, and best of all - no animals eat him. Radio Times and Mary Magdalene are also in the pretty-gang, healthy, and NOT eaten. I love Austins and want to get more of the above mentioned: Princess Al. of Kent, Young Lycidas and Perdita....See MoreWhat is some of the strangest things your garden has done or..
Comments (5)My 1 apple tree blooms up to 4 times each spring/summer so I get Jonathan & Beverly Hills apples 1st & then rest are Beverly Hills & lot of them fall off when small, i don't thin them as much as I should I guess. Usually take off at least 10 gal of small fruit so rest gets big. Other apple tree 6 ft away blooms once. The main graft on it is yellow delicious. We removed the other graft my dad had put on it was making this huge limb coming out of tree. Would have sucked life out of it. Other thing is my Epiphyllums- 1 white & 1 red each had one fruit ball develop on a spent flower, the 1 fell off & I opened it & it is nearly clear gel like with tiny seeds in it, sort of reminds me of an Oriental fruit my neighbor had given me long time ago. I wonder if the fruit can be eaten???...See MoreWhat Is On Your List Of Things To do Today?
Comments (20)We are cleaning "junk" out of the upstairs unfinished room..It is a good size room (about 18'x 23') My son Jeff and a good friend of his who has a flooring business....(he used to work for Jeff when Jeff had his business) They are going to put wood flooring up there. And I have a railing I'm going to have him put up along the stairway instead of a wall. We'll get it painted too.. But we probably will never use the room.... Just getting some things finished. Jeff's friend is doing it with left over wood from his jobs....at no cost to us. What more can I ask.... patti...See MoreGardenHo_MI_Z5
