Don't know why this posted twice!

Yes they get around by that size. We had several nest right around our pool in Dallas. The Great Danes would sniff and check on them but never touch them. Unfortunately once they got that size and moving around I would find them in the pool. It made me sad but there was nothing I could do. I did a few times put a lawn chair over the nest to help protect them from the weather. They are so cute.

I don't know a lot about rabbits, but the others are right....it can fend for itself, and if mama needs to take care of it, she knows where it is.

We had a few births in our front yard, They pick the oddest of places! Right in the middle of my front lawn, no shade!

I think I heard that the mom only visits the hutch once a day as to not draw attention to the babies.

Once, the gardener didn't realize and they scattered. We found them and carried them back to the hutch. Moms don't have problems with them being touched.

That is one adorable bunny! They do go off on their own when quite young; that one looks able to fend for itself. If you have dogs or cats, try to keep them away from it until it moves on.

The worst thing you could do is attempt a rescue or to attract attention to it. I find the bunnies perfectly adorable, even though I do have a vegetable garden.

It's been a long time since I've seen little wild bunnies. Too many cats. However, some must survive as I still see adults now and then. I used to have a resident rabbit whom I called "Mr. Hops". Now any rabbit I see in the yard during the summer or at the bird feeder in winter is "Mr. Hops".

Mother bunnies stay away from the nest for long periods, to avoid attracting predators to their babies. Put him back where you found him, and his mother will find him. Bless you for caring.

My husband used to roll his eyes at me every time he went to mow. Before he would mow I went outside with buckets looked for the baby bunnies put a bucket next to where they sat, next I found the bunny holes and put buckets next to those. He'd get so frustrated with me because he had to mow around the buckets and there would be tall patches of grass left. Most of the times the baby bunnies were in the same spot after he mowed so I feel I saved them. Happy to say we never had a bunny accident. I loved seeing them this time of year and I'd go out and talk to them but never touching them. Another reason for my husband to roll his eyes at me lol!

I'm going to ask a neighbor to walk his dog around our yard. Since we put down our last dog, the rabbits have taken over. There are plenty of places in the wild for these animals to live -- just outside our fence. That's where they go eventually. Our neighborhood coyotes must be FAT this spring.

ALL baby animals are 'cute', but interfering with nature's balance extracts a price that we humans are not apt to witness.

Chisue I agree..don't interfer with the grand scheme of things..let mother nature take its course when it comes to wild life, unless a problem arises from humans wild life should be left as is. That means if the bunnies are alone and need mothered unless mother disappeared do to human activity than let the bunny be. I'm not uncaring, I have just been learning that human interferance with the wildlife is not our place.

I love seeing the babies every spring. That little one can probably be on its own now. We have SIX baby groundhogs living in our wood pile. Sooo entertaining to watch.

I toss carrots to the bunnies and groundhogs. We have trained bunnies before to eat carrots out of our hands.

Humans constantly interfere with nature's balance. And the decline or extinction of many species, and overpopulation of others, is a direct result of that interference.
