Need some advice on cabinet hardware please.. help me pick
Comments (21)I highly second the "get one of each and see how they both feel and look in person" suggestions. The ones I loved the look of felt horrible and didn't look right held up against the cabinets at all. One of the other ones I liked alot felt great and looked great with the cabinets. It is somewhat of a combination between your tapered and your square edge...but with a fuller "foot". Check out the Atlas A826 if you want to see what we have selected. I think I have purchased about 7 different pulls to find the right one for us. Good luck!...See MorePlease help me decide on this table...your always so helpful!!
Comments (9)Light oak would't be my first choice. It does tend to look a bit country, but if you like it and think it'll work with what you have, you should do what you want. Since you're recovering the chairs, it might be just as cost effective to purchase new chairs in a wood tone that you prefer. I think the table size depends on your space. When I was single, I had a small table (30 x 50-It's now DH's desk.) in a small apartment. Most of the time it was pushed up against the wall with chairs at the ends and two chairs along the long side. It could be pulled away from the wall to accomodate six, but it was a tight fit! My current kitchen table is 34 x 55 but has leaves to make it longer. It's narrower than my last table (43.5 x 55 - a drop leaf that is now in the living room.) but suits us fine. I can fit dinner plates on the table without removing my large bowl centerpiece. I don't think I could fit everything if it was 32 inches. Maybe you could map out the dimensions of the new table onto the old table with painters tape to see if it works for the way you usually set the table....See MorePlease please help me decide on hardware finish for kitchen
Comments (5)Even though I tend to be a "mitchy-matchy" person, my CKD said to remember that all metals should be considered neutral. I have SS appliances, sink, faucet. ORB hardware seemed to look better with the tortoise ceramic floor, bronze glaze on the cabinets, and darker wood trim on the cabinets in our rustic kitchen. We were also able to get samples to look at. I think it was good advice to look at overall tones/colors and not just the other metals. I also liked all pulls. Excuse any picture problems. I am just figuring that part out....See MoreI'm so done with this kitchen. Please help me with backsplash.
Comments (27)April - Love your countertop and your cabinets and can't wait to see the final reveal. When you finally find the tile - it will be love at first sight! I really wanted a glass backsplash. I had those same tiles in my kitchen plus others. I also considered back painted glass but the cost was way out of budget. I also could not get the glass to talk to my kitchen no matter how hard I tried! Some others to consider - there were a number of Jeffrey Court tiles that were close seconds. I also loved Heath tiles but was too far away to find a match (I was too embarrassed to ask them to send me a third set of samples especially when I said I didn't want crackle and ended up with crackle LOL) Here is a picture of the Grazia Rixi Crema that I used It is probably a bit lighter than this picture but my little camera had difficulty with the light. I also put small accents above the cooktop. The accent row is called Beach - not sure who actually makes it but it came from the Tile-Shop (not Tile Shop) Again - probably a bit lighter in real life. PS - Ellen - I think you are my "fan" club! (of course, you have the same tile as well!)...See More- 6 years ago
