HAVE: mini rose climbing/spreading red
Comments (9)These usually have the green leaves but throw a purple-ish stripe here and there. I dug them up from my Mom who has had them along her walk for as long as I can remember. It seems the older they get, the more purple there is to them....See MoreWhat Is your favorite red climbing rose??
Comments (30)Cl. Etoile de Hollande is a very healthy, sturdy rose for me, in my area where blackspot isn't a problem. Mine doesn't rebloom, but then it isn't watered, fertilized, or pruned after its first flowering, either. As others have said, color and fragrance are stupendous. Obviously Olga's conditions don't best suit it, but it my climate it's a great rose. Melissa...See MoreWould would look nice with peach colored 'climbing' roses?
Comments (7)A couple clumps of variegated Iris and 3 clumps of a salvia or Veronica in your favorite blue or another nice purply blue would be Sea Lavender (limonium). Actually- lavender alone (3 or 4) would look really nice. I have several kinds of Intermedia and Angustifolia and frankly good old Hidcote is my favorite and most reliable. It's far easier to prune and even renovate and keep in a nice shape. The intermedias I have raised get big and eventually turn into ugly donuts and it is impossible to prune them enough to prevent it. Edit- Oh, I see after posting someone else (above) is a fan of Hidcote too! This post was edited by lola-lemon on Wed, May 8, 13 at 18:12...See MoreTiny red roses on a climbing bush??? What is it?

It does lose its leaves to BS but is one of the old time tough roses....yes it is a mini. They call it the grave yard rose: It was often planted on a grave as a living blanket. cynthia...See MoreGarden Mist
