windows 7 problems

I am using a PC with windows 7 and usually use Mozilla firefox . I have Bitdefender and I do not remember where I got it from, but have had it for a couple of years now. Lately I am getting reminders from them that it will expire and I have to get a new license for about 24.95. The reminder is on my computer screen and there is no way for me to delete it.

I think I would like to completely un install this bitdefender should I just go to my programs and do the unintall or should I keep it or are their a ny free protectors I could use.

Always best to run Removal Tools when dealing with Anti-Virus Programs. Here is a link for the Bitdefender Removal Tools. Running the Removal Tool will Clear out all remnants of the AV and get your drive read for a New Anti-Virus. Any Idea what Anti-Virus you'll be switching to after Bitdefender?

There are many good Free AV's do a search you'll see.. Avast, AVG etc. etc. make sure you click on the FREE version

It should change to size of text, etc. within your browser. Check the system font setting: Settings--> Control Panel--> Display--> Appearance. The system font size setting is near the bottom. I would suggest you download firefox browser and give it a try, you should have at least 2 browsers on your pc anyway for safety sake should IE fail to work. You are right, owbist. My apologies. Here's how I did it. I went to Start/Control Panel. Under Appearance and Personalization, click Change the Theme. On the left side click Display. If you want one of the regular choices, tick it. If you want a custom size, tick that and then on the left, click Set Custom Text size (DPI). A box will appear. Left click, holding it down over the ruler and move right or left until the % number is what you want. Then Ok it. I can't remember, but I think you may have to log off and back on the computer to make the changes permanent. You may have to experiment around with the size to get it like you want it. Remember that if you are using Windows Backup in Windows 7, you should not be using a backup medium smaller than 1GB. CDs are no longer appropriate; you should purchase blank DVDs and write on those. This has nothing to do with Gateway, it has to do with the increased size of a backup. Memorex is also a media that will give you a great deal of 'coasters' (useless burned DVDs/CDs). I was using the full address, just as on my desktop. I finally did the HELP thing, and they wanted my cell phone. I don't have text enabled, so did not enter that. When I typed in an alternate EMail, message says they don't have that one in their records. So I clicked on "Can't access either one", and they sent an Email with reset information to be accessed tomorrow afternoon. Funny thing - if I still didn't have the desktop to receive the Yahoo Email, and I can't log in on laptop - how in the world would I have been able to reset?? Just doesn't make sense. And I hope tomorrow afternoon I will be able to reset and log in on laptop. I don't have a positive feeling about it!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will remove Bitfinder completely like bugspop1 explained and then look at a free antivirus. How can I check my computer now to see if I have any viruses.

I have found the ESET Online Scanner to be useful.

Uninstall and get Avira or Avast, use it in combination with malwarebytes

Azinoh is right, ESET is a very good Online Scanner. BTW, this scanner is just a back up scanner and should not be used as your primary Anti-Virus.
