Has anyone ever grown golden budha?
Comments (3)I've grown Golden Buddha for two years and it's a great plant. Mine clears 2.5 feet and gains a little every year. Nonstop bloomer. Prune in the spring......mostly just remove any dead wood and prune the tips of the canes that are healthy. Mine grows in all day sun and does great. Right now I'm about 2 weeks from first bloom and there are about 20 sprays on one small plant. As soon as those blooms start to fade new buds are already developed. Very fragrant, very colorful, and very floriferous. I highly recommend. Michael...See MoreHas anyone ever grown pumkins like these?
Comments (2)Depends on size. Gold nugget as an example is small, orange and has a very hard rind. There are probably larger C. maximas with orange skin and hard rinds. Gourds dry with no flesh altho ther are a few squash like some summer squash and ornamental gourds that also do not cure with flesh. Not as hard as a gourd (Lagenaria siceria) tho....See MoreHas anyone ever grown snow peas for fall harvest?
Comments (5)I've sown fall peas starting in mid-late July every few weeks until mid-August. The later sowings sometimes don't flower & provide pods, but the pea greens are good in stir fries & salads. Just finding garden space can be tricking in mid summer, so I tuck them here & there more often than a row. Self supporting types have grown well in between my strawberry rows. Ciscoe Morris said that someone shared at one of his talks that for summer sowings of peas put in ice cube trays then plant the ice cubes out for the cooler soil. Seems that it wouldn't last long, but might be interesting. I've just watered soil well & let drain about an hour, plant peas, mulch & water the next day, too. Seems to work for me, but I don't have full sun all day either....See MoreHas anyone ever grown THESE pepper plants?
Comments (3)I have grown the Goat Weed. It is a great pepper. It has black pods that turn red when ripe. It is hot (50K+ SKU) and we use it for powder mostly since it produces like mad. Very seedy. Flavor wise it is ok, bitter if eaten in black stage or green. It also has a nice tolerance for cold so it over winters in the greenhouse well (mine is still bushy and started fruiting again). It is a cool looking plant. The leaves look like there is hair on them. I would grow it again.
