a few more Sunday pictures # 2
Comments (12)RITA; I really like MAE GRAHAM, tooShe is nestled in all the different plants in my Jungle Garden # 2 at the end of my sidewalk. She seems to be very happy there, with a rose on each side of her, plus a Patio Tomatoe plant in a pot,amd WONDER OF IT ALL is in front of her, too. The first two blooms I had on WONDER OF IT ALL didnt open all the way, but soon as this hot weather started every one has been about perfect. No trouble opening now.I just LOVE this daylily. Cindy. I am glad you think my photo is pretty good of Palace Garden Beauty.,I have seen much better before. Yes,ms Blackie stayed up under the lily leaves till I moved, then she came along to find another shady spot Kathy, Thank you, yep, she has the edge and I just love it too. Kay, Thank you.It was hard taking photos in that hot sun.I just had to keep wiping sweat out of my eyes to see anything, and with glasses, thats not easy to do. Jean Dianne, Thank you for looking and commenting....See MoreThursday July 29 - Just a few pictures before the rain

Comments (16)Cindy- The edging is going in a line along the bottom row of daylilies. It is going to be a divider between the daylily section, which will be mulched, and the bottom grass section which will stay as it is. The daylilies need no help to stay were they are, they are in there very solidly and not going anywhere. I figgure as the roots grow more into the hill they will only get more solid. The bricks I intend have two purposes. One to help hold the hill once the grass is not longer there. Breaks up the rain or anything washing down and slows it down. The second reason is to keep the daylilies properly ID. They are planted closely and should spread. Have you though of the fact that it would be a nightmare to try and dig and divide them in the future? Remember that I said that the daylilies were so close in the plateau that I could no longer get in there? I didn't dig until after bloom. How do you think I easily ID which fans belonged to which daylilies? It was because each had a brick marker at each side. So the actual row was daylily clump (s) brick, daylily, brick and so on. Want to pick up daylily X? Feel along with the shovel until you hit the brick on each side, lift whats in the middle. The bricks could not be seen as they were actually covered by soil made by the earthworms from broken down mulch (worm castings)....See MoreA few pictures - before rains
Comments (4)Tell me more about salvia black and blue. I have May Knight and it blooms early then not much the rest of the summer. There are many many kinds of salvia; I would be interested in having some other kinds if they have good qualities. The red annual salvia is one of my dependable annuals. Why don't you put your bugs on the name that insect or name that animal forum. I have used name that plant and they are quick. It is fun to grow a huge tree from a baby. I have a sugar maple that I pulled up near my neighbors pond that is now a big tree. I would be sick if something happened to it though; it is my baby....See MoreLynn-in-TX-Z8b- Austin Area/Hill Country
