Yep, his plant at the pic is nothing else then the 'Violacea'. The thing is that grafted side branches of it will remain flat for a while untill a leader appaer. When it's flat as a young plant, or the appaering leader will be cut off, it's the 'Violacea Prostrate'. If the leader will not be cut out and this plant will outgrow from a flat grower till a tree form, then there will a name changing from 'Violacea Prostrate' till 'Violacea'. This is realy something, don't you think? :o) It's the same way with the Cedrus deodara 'Golden Horizon': It's a grafted side branch of the Cedrus deodara 'Aurea'. When flat, it's a 'Golden Horizon'. When a leader appaer and the plant will grow into a tree form, then it's an 'Aurea' again...

I got Lillian's Tea and Roses as a bonus from Fred Manning.. he sells on the lily auction sometimes --someone help out with his user name as I can't recall at the moment.. but I saw one of his on a message board and went to his photobucket site... I bought a couple of his introductions and have been super pleased with how they preform here... And Jan.. you might just have a suprise one of these days.. never say never. They were so weird looking...at first we thought they were mallards but when they turned we could see their bills. They looked like cartoon ducks! I love the colors on the males...they were so intense and bright! They don't stay around here, my book said they are only here during migration. We saw these in the Mississippi river backwaters.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I did some of these probably a year ago. Some are still in my possession, and I give lots of stuff to my daughter and friends.And sometimes I put an ad in the paper and sell some from my front yard! Luvs-I do not use a pattern for the roses. I use an angle brush and do one stroke at a time Sometimes I go back and do highlites and shade more, especially on the leaves.Also thin the paint- I mostly just use water for acrylic paint.If it doesn't look full enough when you finish,use the tip of your brush and make little "filler petals". On my pots and wooden pieces I usually sponge the background color-blue and white or whatever color I want.Two or three-lots of different color combinations work well. I either sponge a lighter color where my design will be, or use spray paint!Makes them show up better.I hope you can make sense out of all this.
