Weeping norway spruce and weeping atlas cedar help/questions..

Greg Locke

Previous owner planted both of these very close to the house, within 1 to 2 feet.

Both trees are about a decade old.

The weeping norway spruce is now 10-12 feet tall, was never trained, and is getting close to the roof overhang.

The Weeping atlas cedar is just unkempt and untrained.

First question..are these tree to close to the house ? less than two feet seems awfully close and I just noticed a crack in the foundation near the weeping norway spruce, but its well above the soil line and could be from just more settling of a 40 year old house. I hate to cut either one down as they both look nice, but will do so if need be.

Second question. if they aren't too close, is there how do i train these. or is it too late and should I just cut off the wild looking parts and maybe cut the top off the weeping norway spruce?

I can post pics tomorrow. Dark out now..
