Homemade Christmas or Holiday cards? Anyone make these?
Comments (9)When I was small, my mother used to buy black & white lithographed cards from the Metropolitain Art Gallery in New York. I recall one that portrayed a stable scene, another of angels- but not all of them were Christmas based because they were sent to friends of all religions. She then hosted a party of close friends and we sat around the diningroom table and watercolored them. I still think that is a nice touch- and a happy memory!...See MorePaper Christmas craft for Kids
Comments (4)Here are some other ideas, though not all made from construction paper... Spray paint a paper plate gold. Have the kids glue an old Christmas card cut out in a circle shape for the center. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top, add a ribbon or length of yarn for a hanger, call it a wreath. Cut a sheet of const. paper in half. Fold each half to make a Christmas card. Use old Christmas cards to decorate the front, then let the kids "write" a message inside with Crayola (washable) markers. Cut out Christmas tree shape from constr. paper. Put a tree-shaped tree in the center of a larger piece of contr. paper. Let the kids decorate the tree with paper punchies, yarn for garland, etc. An old favorite at our house: Save the red 1" tall plastic peanut butter lids from the Sams Club-sized jars. Fill with plaster of paris, stick in a pine cone and let it dry. Give each kid a bottle of glue and a pie plate (to catch the glitter) to decorate their "tree". Hope this sparks some other ideas for you! Julie...See MoreDo you like purchasing cards?
Comments (30)For the most part, I think store bought cards are a waste of money . . . and too expensive! When they were young, I always encouraged my kids to make me one instead. Loved them! DH & I don't exchange cards, although we do buy each other gifts and make holidays special for one another. But, because the rest of our entire very large clan lives in other parts of the country, I do like to keep in touch. I send Facebook birthday and anniversary messages with a photo to most of them. In addition, I also call my sibs and parents . . . and, I joined Treat about two years ago. Now I create very special one-of-a-kind cards for very special occasions, such as a card to my mom for Mother's Day, to my dad, to my parents for their anniversaries. There are dozens of design options that I can then personalize myself by changing the wording and adding my own photos that I upload. They LOVE them, as I use childhood pics, pics from our times together over the years, etc. DD goes to college out of state now and DS is working in Arizona. I love being able to send them special cards. Through their affiliated site, Shutterfly, I've created beautifully bound books of photos from our family reunions for my parents, as well as other gift books for friends. From another of their sites, TinyPrints, DD and I designed a very special graduation announcements when she graduated from high school. We got rave reviews on those and they were much less expensive and much more personal that the generic ones the schools try to sell you. Anyhoo, I've been very happy with each company, the prices, card quality, delivery time, etc. Lynn...See MoreOBF JAN 2017 CHRISTMAS CARD CRAFTS
Comments (80)I have never heard of Oregano oil. How much and how often? Does it have to be tomato juice or can I use something else? I will have to check it out. Im not too sure on the stinging nettle. I wanted to try tumeric formy chronic pain but not sure how to use it. And now Im thinking of black cohosh for other things. These allergies/sinusitus/menopause symptoms are killing me plus my chronic pain. . I just want to feel normal again. If I didnt color Id prob be going out of my mind. Thank you Amy! Oh did I mention my daughter finally graduated cosmetology school in nov. so no more 14 hr days with the grandbaby. And Im finally getting days off.
