I am trying to make "hoop houses " over each bed,...but its slow going with over 20 plus raised beds. using 2by 4 wire fencing...and others are using 4by 6 opening fencing attaching it to various size boards.. most of my raised beds are 4 by 4 in size but quite a few are close to 4 by 8 foot..... s lots to do. reason for hoops is to try to keep out insects, etc covering hoops with row cover or tulle etc......plus having cattle panels around giant garden with poultry wire ...wired to cattle panels thought fence would keep out the rabbits . I did not consider outdoor only Kitty would be using them for extra litter boxes... Cat has several acres for his big litter box... Plus covering walk path with cardboard the mulch or deep old straw Only reason for cat.... is to keep away the horrendous number mice that plagued us for over a year.... and he catches lots of voles too.... just chiming in Jean

These types of bees are known as "burrowing bees" and they are absolutely harmless. This type of bee is actually not social; so even though there may be more than a few of them around your property, they are solitary and not part of a "hive." The chances of you being stung by one are virtually zero. Normally I would suggest a live bee removal if there were a hive or something of that nature. But the best advice for this situation is to just sit back and enjoy nature in this case. There isn't much you can do, since there isn't a localized swarm that you can kill. In fact, the bees are actually doing you a service by aerating the lawn, which is usually something you have to pay for. And like I said, there is no chance of getting stung unless you try to grab one.

I specifically came to this forum today to post about the great time I'm having with MY new baby bunny! It's working out much better than I thought it would. I was driving to the post office or somewhere, and some little boys walking down my road, one holding the bunny, called out, 'Want a free rabbit?' 'No,' I said. But, on my way home, they were STILL walking around with the rabbit, and I realized that they probably had a problem regarding what to do with it. Turns out that their relative bought it and couldn't keep it, had turned the bunny loose in the wild, but it had been hanging around still. I knew I still had a bunny cage and some supplies, and this little bunny looked like he had such a sweet disposition...so, I said, 'Okay,' on second thought, and took the bunny. I take him outside and let him munch in the garden, and he seems to enjoy listening to classical music. Lives on the porch for now, but will be inside in the winter, in a new bunny house that I've ordered. I never thought I'd want a rabbit, because they seem contrary to good gardening -- if you want a crop of nice herbs or flowers. But, for me, a rabbit is actually a companion and sympathizer, and I appreciate that he likes the oregano that I don't know what to do with right now, and so on!!! I prefer to let animals remain in the wild, but, this bunny was already tamed, and since he was removed from family and friends, I didn't know if he'd find a way to survive our very tough winters and so on.

Go to Costco or Sam's... big a couple of big containers of CAYENNE pepper.... Sprinkle around the area... that should work! Stopped my rabbit and my armadillo from digging around my yard...
