**finally** first seedling to bloom 09 - pics
Comments (16)Thanks everyone... I was so happy! It was raining cats and dogs here yesterday with lightning and thunder, but that didn't stop me from going out to take photos with an umbrella!! This is a seedling that was planted in the yard in fall of '08. I have four other sibs, but none of them have even got a scape yet. Funny how crosses work. Here is another photo from later in the day:...See MoreWeekly Weigh-in, Week of 5/3/09
Comments (26)Hi Guys I couldnt sleep last night because its going to be weigh in day today. When I got up this morning, I checked my weight atleast 10 times to make sure what I am seeing is not a fluke number. My current weight is 142.2 . My last week's weight on Tuesday was 146 ( I knew it was all water retention) I am in training session today and tomorrow all day. Hopefully I should manage to keep my food intake to 1200-1300 calories. Eklektos I hope everything goes well with your daughter's Dr appointment. Just pray. You will feel better and stronger with every prayer. Also, remember we both will hit 139s very soon :-))I was thinking to treat myself with ethnic food. But now I changed my mind. I would probably make a trip to Spa and walk some extra miles on the day I reach 139. All you guys are doing good....See MoreWeekly Weigh-in, Week of 7/17/09
Comments (14)Good Morning, YEA, HAROLD!!!!!!!! Don't cha LOVE it? How "sweet" are the pants falling down! ;~)) Helen, Been there - Done that. It gives you a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach to see those scales go up instead of down. But, it's just a 'thang' and will be gone next week. And the friend's comment really helps your resolve. Ek, Seems like the foods you are adding back aren't hurting you. Good job! I may have lost a pound, but the potato soup and fried apples I had for dinner are high carb foods and made my scales refuse to move down this morning. They are 2 of Aunt Bern's favorite foods and I was just too tired to fix me anything low carb. At least I resisted the corn bread muffins she wanted!! (She fell 1st thing yesterday morning and scared me to death. Thank God nothing got broken, but I was on my feet all day and gave in to the not so healthy dinner.) This week - still 159. Comments (14)I go all over the board. I think I'm most comfortable with nine inch, have done some twelve inch, and also ten inch. I cannot find a ten inch template and wonder, is this an unusual size? It's either got to be that or so common, ten inch templates are always sold out. The smallest I am comfortable with are six inch blocks and I have yet to make a full sized quilt using them. I think one is on the horizon, however. I translated a nine inch pattern into a twelve inch block for one Queen sized quilt. It turned out nicely, but I think it lost a little in the translation. It carries off fine on a large bed, but I think the design would get lost on a twin sized bed. I do have one top, my Eye of God quilt, finished in sixteen inch blocks. The design is pretty intricate, however, and they don't look overwhelming....See Morebethnorcal9
