Didn't kill my rose yet-what is it &what should I do with it?
Comments (7)Thanks for the ideas. I could go crazy with orange roses apparently! I think I'll have to rule out Amber Queen which does look right but I think this plant has been in the ground longer than the 80s. The previous owner thought it had been in since the greenhouse was installed in the late 50s or early 60s. The classy fence post is newer. :) What makes a climber a climber instead of something that was pruned funny? Aside from the obvious trunks, this one doesn't put out any long branches. But it's had so much "shaping" I can't tell....See MoreDid I miss something, or didn't Lori tell us about Las Vegas?
Comments (8)Vegas was great! Considering we don't drink (much) or gamble (much) we had a fine old time. The airport bars in Nevada are better than in Utah. Of course, the weather was better in Vegas than at home too. One Homeland Security woman at McCarren in Vegas was having a bad day and yelled at Custer for being so slow. She said if he didn't hurry up she'd search his bag and make him miss his flight. The rest of the HLS crew were very nice and more than made up for her behavior. We did a lot of shopping at the trade shows. Custer got a new and much needed saddle. I found two pairs of beautiful silver earrings and a very handsome purse. The kids, of course, fare well too. I love to shop at the cowboy trade shows and get new western Christmas ornaments. We had some very good meals at the Flamingo Hilton and Mandalay Bay. We gave ourselves fifty dollars each to gamble one afternoon. Custer hit the twenty one tables and I cruised through the poker machines until I found one that liked me. We both played for a couple of hours. Custer lost all his money and I cashed out my fifty plus a profit of a $1.25. A well spent two hours I say. The seats we got to the rodeo were perfect and we enjoyed it so much! The trip was short (two nights and not quite three days) but we saw all we wanted and did all wanted. Not bad for a trip we didn't know we were going to take until five days before we left! LOL Thanks for asking. Lori...See MoreI didn't...do YOU?
Comments (20)My biggest "fear" so far...the dentists!...They always put that tray of torture instruments right in front of you, then leave the room for a minute. A few years ago, a new dentist that I saw, told me that I needed my gums cleaned and scraped...ewww...He said that I would be given a sedative...I would feel "relaxed" during the procedure. That helped to know that. The day of torture, ah, appointment...his assistant gave me a tiny cup of liquid to drink...tasted like cough syrup...right after swallowing it, the dentist walked in... and started the procedure...I said that I didn't feel any different...He assured me that I would soon feel relaxed... What he didn't add to that was..."an hour from now"...About 30 minutes after returning home, I started to feel calm , went to bed and slept for hours....See MoreMy PB didn't follow the plan & I got wrong dimensio, what to do??
Comments (4)Thanks for your reply, its really encouraging. The problem with this builder is that he is not following the plan, He doesnt carry a copy of it, he leaves it here for whoever he is sending to finish some work on the spool & even his people never check it (Ive tested that with them) So I end up with mistakes/ changes from the plan (i.e. wrong dimensions, wrong steps location, luckily I was able to correct the waterfalls miss location before the gunite was done) & then he will try to keep going & convince me that these errors are for my good & it was intended. Im stuck with him now & we are going very slowly with the project as I requested to be involved with every single step we are taking. Im still waiting for the rock guy to come finish the rock work needed around the steps, water fall & grotto (10 days so far) hopefully he will come soon. Thanks & wish me luck...See Morelucillle
