It was put in a larger pot about 6 or 7 years ago. This year I had to put it in a new pot because the drain pan on the old pot broke and the water was draining out on our carpet. I put in in a new pot that was either the same size or slightly bigger. I didn't see any root congestion when I switched pots this year. Even if it did, I can not put it in a larger pot. My house is small, and with the other non-citrus trees we have to bring in also, we just don't have room for anything bigger. In the spring I cut the trees back to try to make them more bushy and less tall, and it has not been a problem. When I bought them I lived in Houston, TX, and If I had stayed there I would have ended up planting them in the ground and let them grow like they want to. However, I met my soul mate in Kentucky and we got married so I have to keep them potted so I can bring them inside in the winter until I have enough extra money to build some type of greenhouse. I have had the trees in Kentucky for about 4 years so far, and I have never had anything like this happen. I really believe that it is that new pot. It really doesn't drain like people on this forum say that citrus trees need to grow properly. If I can find a nursery open this time of year in our area I will get a new pot and some proper soil and repot it again. If not I'm going to have to wait till spring so I can get a pot from wal-mart, tractor supply, ect. At this time of year it is next to impossible to find any gardening supplies around here.

No rush, Make decisions on how big you want the tree. If you plan to put it out for the summer, start acclimating it to sun light by placing in broken shade starting about 1/2 hour and increasing by 1/2 per day. Seeing your in zone 5 you'll probably want to do this at the heat of the day. Once the tree is out side it will probably branch out on its own. If you got an instruction packet with the tree, follow them very closely. Take your time, others will have specific advice pertaining to lemon trees. HEy Mike, Actually, I did have some plumeria when I first met you but not many....JUST RECENTLY HAVE I BECOME OBSESSED LMAO!!! I'm telling ya the egg method is awesome!!! IT really thickens those fragile roots up quickly. If you can Mike...just try it with one and plant it in a clear plastic pot. I swear, in 6 months(maybe even shorter if the plumeria is out in full sun and temps over 80),you will see for yourself. You will even see how the roots seek out that egg, and the roots end up doubling in girth!! I will NOT repot unless I have the eggs! IT's not worth it to me, and I have found that I end up with much better blooms. Also, I FINALLY got a fig tree collection going!! I have 7 diffrent varieties now and I will have one more to add here very soon. I tried my first ripe fig and it was DELICIOUS!! To me the flavor is very tropical and yummy! Man, I am not going to convince you on growing mango am I!! I'm telling ya...my citrus take more light and in general there 100% less finicky!! I will have to email some pics of mine. I also cannot get my D.R. to bloom but there seedlings. Your actually warmer and you have a longer growing season than I do. The mango will bloom in the early spring and will ripen before you have to bring them indoors. I hate to see you rob yourself of such an awesome experience just because you don't think you have enough light! Cmon Mike were's your sense of adventure?! Take care, Andrew

Probably 40% of the leaves have some kind of holes or missing outeredge. The discoloration is only 2 branches with a handful of leaves apiece so it is more limited. Do you still think it's ok?
