dish soap, laundry detergent, tub cleaner - brands please
Comments (21)Dish soap - lemon smelling ones are nice, but I don'thave a favorite brand. Arm& Hammer Laundry det. either powder, or if the liquids are on sale, the unscented! (yes!) and/or the one with non-chlorine bleach. Cling wrap - saran if really necessary or go with some other method! Cleaner - Ajax or Comet, or if on delicate surface - the Scrubbin' bubbles stuff. I don't want to use the aerosol can, but the product usually works on scum that other products don't budge. Or, use full strength vinegar. Someone did a study that showed vinegar killed 99% of germs just like a lysol type product. We make pancakes from scratch...also waffles until the darn waffle iron malfunctioned. Anyway! about that maple syrup. I like to trade genuine amber Massachusetts maple syrup for orchids :-) So, next March make me an offer of some fabulous orchid and I'll send you a pint. :-) Substitute maple syrup for molasses in a ginger bread recipe, and you'll have a fabulous treat. Yarn: Lion brand "Homespun" is what I'm using now to make ultr-large scarves. Knits up very soft and fluffy and somewhat springy, so when you wrap one of the scarves around your head twice, it feels good and does not unwrap. (It's wicked cold here already!) Merry merry... Comments (14)Sounds like scale build-up. You can buy scale remover or use vinegar. You could use the same idea of soaking a towel in the scale remover or vinegar and leave it over night. I would use some old rag that you can just throw away and probably cotton would be best if you choose to use that scale remover which is kind of strong. Vinegar will probably not harm a cloth. This may take a few times to get it all. But if it's hard and sharp that would most likely be scale from your water. We have scale in our water and vinegar gets it off. It can also build up on the shower head and cause the water to not come out very good, you can put vinegar in a baggie and put it on the shower head and use some tape to hold it there over night. It will be clean in the morning!...See MoreIn Sink soap DIspenser - Hand or Dish soap?
Comments (25)I understand the concerns about using dish soap if it tends to dry your hands. That hasn't been a probelm for me, but I do have a child with OCD who tends to wash more than necessary, so for a while I switched from the antibacterial dish soap to a dish soap that was not antibacterial. It was gentler on the hands, and kept my child's hands from cracking (and sometimes bleeding) as they had with the antibacterial soap. Since then, I've diverted my child from constant hand washing to using hand sanitizer in between a normal amount of hand washing, which has solved the problem. Now I can use whatever kind of dish soap I want. But if it doesn't bother your hands, dish soap is a perfectly good hand soap. (My grandmother even used dish soap for shampoo, which I do occasionally for a super cleansing of all hair products from my hair, with no discernible harm.)...See MoreHow to attach wall soap dish?
Comments (3)You don’t have a lot of options there. If you were highly skilled you might be able to fabricate a matching clip that you could epoxy to the back of the soap dish. But that would be difficult to get just right even if you're skilled. The only other alternatives I can think of are to get a new soap dish, or permanently epoxy the existing soap dish to the wall....See MoreUser
