Need design help with windows / exterior facade

I just purchased a fixer upper. The house was built in 1921 (perhaps a kit home?) and the original molding around the windows in the interior is quite lovely. I'm trying to salvage / restore as much as possible. The vinyl siding is being replaced and I'm planning on building some sort of trellis and railing on the porch. Since the house doesn't fall strictly into any particular architectural style, I'm a bit stuck as to the windows - whether to make them larger or keep as is? Opinions would be much appreciated. Thank you!! :)

(on the pic, the far right hand window is obscured by a tree I'm removing so I edited it out to see what it looks like without it).

I think the Window dimensions look proportionate to the house in there current size. I think the trellis and some different siding would finish it off nicely.

But, if you want to change size now is the time, going wider is more expensive due to header issues, going taller is easier.

I would not do vinyl, and I would not do double hung. The first is poor quality that doesn't last. The second is inappropriate to your house, which is very cute! I would replace with aluminum clad wood casement windows with a dark chocolate or black exterior cladding. Have you looked in to fixing your windows? Wood windows last hundreds of years with proper upkeep, IDK about windows manufactured when your house was built, though.

My house has windows more like this along the front, stretching almost from corner to corner and at the ceiling line to a sill height of about 66" or so. This is because my house is right on the sidewalk. It lets a lot of light in and they are high enough that there is privacy without any window covering (all you can see outside is the ceiling pretty much). And we have a great view of trees and skyline but not the cars parked right out front. A lot of people may think this does not look as nice as a full length window, but the neighboring houses with full length windows keep them fully covered almost all of the time for privacy.

Maybe use Cedral to give it a fresher look? I am not a professional, but I had it installed on my house, and it looks much better than the old facade. I am not sure whether it will be relevant to install Cedral here, but you can consult a tsl.uk professional about it. They are dealing with cases like this all the time, and maybe they will give you better advice on the topic than I can. I am unsure which color is better to choose in this case. I would make the house white, but you do you. Also, I would remove those reddish things near the windows because I don’t like how they look.

Keep it simple. I think the proportions look good. I think you are on the right track.

+1. I think a new palette of colors is the better move here. I would not mess with structure as Todd mentioned.
