Yoshino Cherry tree dying! Need help!

Hello all, I live in in Zone 7B. Planted a Yoshino Cherry tree about 3 years back. It was all fine till now, it even flowered well in Spring. but now the leaves have started wilting and looks like the tree is about to die!

It is planted in a sunny spot . we have red clay soil that doesnt absorb too much water and lately had lot of rains. could water logging be the problem?

Should i dig around the tree and check? i checked the leaves and there r no bugs anywhere.

Please help me save the tree. Thanks for ur help in advance.
