Also, I was under the impression that Cherry Parfait and Fire & Ice are the same rose (HMF has the names linked I believe). Are the two you mention very different? Hi, Kelly & Vapor, @celeste/NH Thank you for your ideas! i checked my friend’s location and she has humidity, too, so I am reworking my list. Rugosa are good. Kordes are great for no BS in humidity. Do you know what Old Garden Roses are best for zone 4 and humidity? @Kelly Tregaskis Collova Earth Angel & Madame Anisette are zone 5, but you have grown them in your zone 4. Are you zone 4a or 4 b? Where in your yard can you grow them? Maybe if you grow them on south side of home it keeps them warmer since they are not nade for your zone? However, climate has warmed all over and temps may not be getting as low as we are zoned, either. Also, did the cold winter get your Olivia? Olivia does really well in humidity. I have humidity & she gets no BS. Princess Alexandria of Kent gets BS, so I will not recommend for her. The DA roses list in my post above are zoned 4, but maybe DA are just not very hardy? Lichfield Angel, though, may be their most hardy rose-I have her and she grows no matter what where I have lost other roses. Yes, I heard less fragrant DA newer ones-thanks. Maybe if planted on south side home they will keep warmer in zone 4.

Hi Amy, Due to limited space and an exceptionaly large wishlist ( way, way too many pretty ones out there) I am a double fan of everything also. I wish I had DL beds big enough to buy multiple fans of everything! Thats almost like instant gratification! Don't have to wait long to see lots of the flowers you really like when ya buy a lot of them! Its all personal preferance, but if you start hanging out with us on the GW, you will need more flower beds cause you will be discovering some amazing DL's you just can't live with out! Oh-Boy your in trouble now! I could not be satisfied with just a couple favorites, there's too many pretties out there to be had! Enjoy your new DL's hope they are a wonderful addition to your home.

And some of us lots more north are still considered zone 7. Most of Long Island is listed as zone 7. Thats because we almost never get down to zero. In fact I can't remember when we last did get down that low. Getting down to 5 degrees is very rare and might last only one night or so. But our spring does not start as early in the year as the more southern states and of course winter comes sooner. So just adds to the confusion. But I think its great that we are all discussing late bloom and related issures here on the forum lately. I am always for finding more late bloomers. I wanted to add a note about bloom sequence. I have noticed that everything listed as late, and this would be even from the same hybridizer, does not bloom late before some I have that are listed as ML bloom. This would be after a complete cycle here in my garden having gone thru a winter here. I want to use Murphy/Reed intros as an example. ALCHEMIST listed as a late bloomer, is totally finished blooming by the time all my late and very late bloomers are starting to bloom. This is annoying to me because first its in the late blooming gardenbed and second, I bought it because its a late bloomer. Didn't want a midseason bloomer. RED HILL listed as late, really is while NUCLEAR MELTDOWN listed as mid/ML? starts blooming after ALCHEMIST and just before RED HILL. But really close in time. I know that this does not clear anything up but I just thought they were interesting observations.
