Oh, pretty Kathy. You'll enjoy the storage there, it looks like a lot. We had a bookcase style headboard with sliding cabinet door spaces when first married, but without the spacious storage each side. A hand me down, not made as nicely as that one.

That is a beautiful piece of furniture, Kathy! No wonder you were so excited about getting it. Are there other pieces with it? I've always thought of a bedroom 'set', as including a dresser, and/or a chest of drawers, too. Just curious! I'm very happy for you! And maybe a bit envious, too.

So how do you like it? have you filled up all the drawers yet?

I don't think I could have enough storage!

Under the bed are 3 huge drawers on each side! DH says he has filled his all up, I have lots of room still. Will take some of the purses and such that I have in the top of the closet and put in the drawers. On each side there is the slider, 3 small drawers and 3 shelves behind doors, plus the 3 large drawers under the bed. That is a lot more storage we ever had with 2 dressers!!!

We don't have box springs under the mattress yet, but I do want it raised up a bit, so will get short box springs.

The windows will be getting changed out sometime this year. They are just single pane with a screen behind them. No storm windows, no double pane and living on the lake we get a lot of wind. Need 8 windows. We added a 3 season room about 12 years ago and that has 8 windows plus a 9 foot door wall (slider) and those are all really good windows.

Moni, I know you are going thru Michigan this summer, will you be on the east or west side of the state? I'm east side, just north of Oscoda.

Enjoy your new bedroom suite. I think you have more storage in the bed than I have in my whole bedroom. Very nice.

The wood is beautiful! I inherited one of the 80's rounded oak?, trying to be modern but just unattractive ones when I married my first husband. I begged him to let me paint it and it was a no go. There is another poster here who painted hers and it looks so nice! I think the quality of your wood and the more square shape is beautiful. (No offense to the other poster. She made it clear she didn't care for it and did an amazing job with painting it!)

The "under drawers" don't show on the picture, that really does add a lot of storage! Thank you for explaining that. I've never seen a piece of furniture like this in 'real life', so I didn't know.
