I live in Southern Chester County. I used Stone Masters in Kennett Square. They did fabulous work. (I have BA) In fact I was in there yesterday with a friend looking for her counters. Their prices might not be the cheapest around, but I feel you really are paying for the craftsmanship and you get it from them. Let me know if you do go, I'll tell you whom to ask for. UKAlison--I think that the backsplash sounds pretty. I'm a sucker for marble though. But with that being said, and not seeing a photo, I can tell you from my own experience of testing marble with it, it was just too competitive with my granite. It's hard to explain, especially when you see my backsplash. Even though mine has an "oh wow" factor to it, it is essentially a solid color. And that is what still makes it possible to have the counter be the star of the kitchen. I am a very visual person. This might not make any sense to you. After your counters are in, go to the tile store, bring home some samples and see what you like. Take photos, post them, ask opinions. Make sure to get some plain subways too, even beveled subways. A beveled subway will help give the plain subway a little pizazz, something the BA deserves. You need to bring home all the contenders. Also look at different shape subways, 2x6, or even larger format ones. I hope my response isn't too confusing. Most of us go through what you are going through. Sometimes we find one in the store and are sure that it's the one, but then later realize it's not when we put the two together at home. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Redroze, it is 1 1/4". I'm so glad to hear you still love to look at it everyday. I find myself just staring at it! Paintpanther--yes, planning the blacksplash is next. Now I can at least visualize it more. I am still in love with that Kraftmaid ad's backsplash--so Hollywood glam. I have a small Irish crystal chandelier for over the island. Well, it's on a hook where the old light was, so technically, it's near the new island's location. Hopefully soon to be permanently relocated to over the island. Remodelfla-I have to admit, when I bought the sink from Overstock, I didn't even notice the drain was in the center. I was so used to seeing them offset. It worked out for me anyway because I am not one that likes to "advertise" the names of my products, and with the hole centered, I was able to turn the sink around and not see the "C-Tech.." thing that is engraved there. I really like the clean line it gives with the sharp angles. I'm glad you like the long ogee edge on the island, mairin. When we chose it, the fabricator was so excited--he said it's his favorite for showing off the granite. Sorry the island picture is blurry. I must have still been shaking from the shock that I finally had granite in my house! My floor is going to be a cork floor. Natural Cork's New Dimension Narrow Plank in Corte. We have been struggling if this floor will be too dark, now that the dark cabinets are in the room. We plan on spreading it out and taking a look now that the granite is in. If we opt to not use it then we can put it down in another part of the house. It is a beautiful floor.

Me!!! Sher_in_nc also has a similar granite called Brazilian Diamond I think. I don't have finished kitchen photos, but I posted some in-progress photos after the granite was installed. I think it goes really well with dark brown or white cabinets. I think it would look okay with honey/cinnamon brown cabinets, but am honestly a bit worried that it may be too "cool" and that you would be better off with Kashmir Gold. Could you get a sample of each granite and hold it up to your cabinet door sample? I would totally recommend that.
