Mine has a Long Ogee edge on the island. Only did the eased edge on the perimeter for cost issues. After splurging on this stone, I couldn't splurge on this edge everywhere. My fabricator suggested doing it this way because when someone comes into the kitchen, the first thing they see is the island and that fabulous edge. Automatically they are fooled into thinking that this is the edge everwhere. It really is true. I don't know if it's any more fragile than other stones. My fabricator certainly didn't express any concern to me about it. He did let me know about certain marble slabs being fragile. srg215's comments about the surface not being smooth is something to consider. I have no issues with my slabs not being smooth as glass. I always have accepted them as part of nature, a product of the Earth. Some people are shocked that their slabs have rough spots. I guess if someone wants a counter to be totally smooth and perfect, maybe something man made is a better choice. For me? I love my Bianco Antico and would choose it again. Here's my island:

kitchenaddict-my granite is called golden lapidus and DH and I love it but the delicatus would have allowed me to keep my old appliances which were white. I could have waited to replace them. Unfortunately, the white clashed with my granite so stainless is now sitting in my kitchen-smudges, fingerprints, and all!! The granite is in a category labeled Old World/Tuscan-very earthy colors-butterscotch, caramel, hot fudge brown, black, gray, some white, lots of sparkly things. When I saw the delicatus it was too late but it would have worked in my kitchen. BA is a very nice granite but I like something that's more off the beaten track. I've only seen one other kitchen with my granite on the finished kitchens web site. Haven't seen a lot of kitchens with delicatus but if you google delicatus granite it will bring up a page that has a link to an old post 08/08 talking about this granite with pics. i totally agree with everyone's advice here. i went to several granite yards and really liked alot of slabs, but i just felt i had to keep looking. then i went to a yard, saw this beautiful slab of granite and just knew "this is it"!! we had a couple more places we could have gone, but i said "no, i don't want to go to anymore places, this is it, i'm done" i made my choice then and there. when you feel there is "no comparison" between what you previously pick out and considered and the "it" slab, you know your search is over i knew it was the slab because i wanted to "throw it on back" and take it home then and there! it really is true, and i was doubter, you really will know when its "the one". you don't want to see other slabs and you know your search is over. i also agree with the "name of the slab". don't get caught up in it. each yard can call slabs by different names so just look for the colors you want and then everything will fall into place from there. my is called "sedna" and when you google it, there is nothing like mine on the web. so they might have used that name, but another yard can, and they do, call it by another name. get what you love, not what you think evveryone else will love or what you "should" you get. best of luck.. when you do find "it", you will know, and all your searching will be worthwhile because you will walk into your new kitchen every morning, and you will fall in love with it all over again..
