I struggled with this same question and in fact asked it a month or so ago on this forum. I think either would be beautiful with dark cherry cabinets. (Mine are a medium-dark and being made as we speak (I hope!))

Of the slabs I saw, Delicatus was "cooler" because of the cinnamon in BA. I think they are both amazing (I love sparkly granite). Is it worth a trip back to the granite yard to compare the different slabs against your door?

I have visited my Del White slabs a few times, however I don't have a sample of my door. My cabinets will be delivered to my contractor in a couple of weeks, so hopefully it won't be too late to change my mind once I can compare a cabinet door against it. I'm not sure what you mean about the cinnamon in BA. Can you expand on that, please.

And teaforwendy, have you picked your granite yet? Would love to her about choices you have made regarding your remodel so far!

The BA I picked and that you see in lots of the BA here in the fabulous kitchens of beekeeperswife, redroze, DonnaKay has "cinnamon rivers" so in my mind it pulls warmer than Delicatus. However, I saw some BA that is cooler with the cinnamony colors. Also, Ice Brown seems like a middle ground between BA and Delicatus.

I LOVE my BA with my Kraftmaid Peppercorn cabinets. Only my island & the pantry wall are stained this color, other cabinets are painted.

Seeing bee's cabinets makes me really partial to BA, but Delicatus is gorgeous, especially with lots of mica. You would probably be living either, but if you have questions check with the granite yard about holding your slab and making a change. I got my slabs only because they had minutes before gone off a 30 day hold because the home owner wanted another color. Yipee for me, but it could be that your granite yard will work like that. Check with them or your fabricator. And remember it's so easy to second guess all these expensive semi-permanent decisions. Me and DH are driving ourselves crazy with second guessing. Dishwasher drawers? Would have looked great if wr knew they existed!!! And so on... you will be great!!

I think either would look great but I'm a big fan of the delicatus. After my granite was already in I saw the delicatus in a kitchen showroom and oh my-if I could have I would have taken out the granite I just put in to make room for the delicatus. My cabinets are medium/dark stained oak. The showroom had dark wood cabinets with the delicatus and it looked really great.

chris45ny...thank you for the vote for Del. White...I think that's what we are going to stick with, with Bianco Ant. as a back-up if for some reason my granite was damaged..(did I just write that??) Actually one of the slabs has a chunk missing from it, so I guess that's why, in the back of my mind, I need a back-up plan. I'm curious as to what granite you installed..I'm sure it's lovely as I don't think I've ever seen ugly granite. I think, (as I'm sure many people do) that I'm looking at art work in a museum when I'm at a granite yard....not to get all religious here, but that would make God the artist! Thanks for your response!

It has no mesh on the bottom like I have seen on some Delicatus. Hmm... I thought it was BA. Can anyone tell me?

Beekeeper, I LOVE your kitchen! So beautiful. I would not want to cook in there as I would hate to make it dirty!

kitchenaddict-my granite is called golden lapidus and DH and I love it but the delicatus would have allowed me to keep my old appliances which were white. I could have waited to replace them. Unfortunately, the white clashed with my granite so stainless is now sitting in my kitchen-smudges, fingerprints, and all!! The granite is in a category labeled Old World/Tuscan-very earthy colors-butterscotch, caramel, hot fudge brown, black, gray, some white, lots of sparkly things. When I saw the delicatus it was too late but it would have worked in my kitchen. BA is a very nice granite but I like something that's more off the beaten track. I've only seen one other kitchen with my granite on the finished kitchens web site. Haven't seen a lot of kitchens with delicatus but if you google delicatus granite it will bring up a page that has a link to an old post 08/08 talking about this granite with pics. You can see the kitchens of daki, iris16, and dd70. Good luck.

Thanks to all who responded...I ended up visiting my Del.White the other day and was happy to see that the yard had received another shipment. Lucky for me there were 2 slabs left. My DH and I viewed them and decided to switch to them as they were completely intact, (as opposed to the slabs we had on hold which had a chunk missing). I am thrilled with them and can't wait until they are in my home!
