Granite is in!! Bianco Antico

Well, I am in love with my counters! I will admit it--I gave them a big hug!

This is my first attempt at posting pictures, so I hope it goes well.

I must say, that I know everyone talks about their install nightmares, but mine went soooo smoothly. I can't really see the seams, the installers were so concerned about being clean--lots of vacuuming, sweeping. I couldn't be happier.

Enjoy the photos, don't mind the kitchen--the floor isn't down yet, and the drawers and doors are out in the garage having their last coat of paint dry!

Oh wow beekeeperswife, I absolutely love it!! It looks like 3 cm / 1 1/4"...am I right?

You are going to love it for years to come. I can't stop looking at mine and it's been over a year now. =)

beekeeperswife, welcome to the BA club!! love your sink!! we also wanted a rectangular sink like that with two bowls but unfortunately it didnt seem like it will fit. yours look perfect!! so backsplash now?!?

I think I would be inclined to do a darker wood for the pedestal table, but then do chairs that are mostly upholstery rather than mostly wood. Whatever wood they have (legs) in the same dark finish as the table. I think the upholstered chairs would add a warmer, softer touch to all the hard surfaces you have (granite counters, tile or stone floor, polished chrome hardware, etc).

Luvnola - it's from Turn of the Century Lighting, who carries both antique and custom lighting. They're in Toronto, Canada but I believe they ship internationally. Their stuff is droolworthy (and even nicer in person) - Turn of the Century Lighting Website

kitchenaddict-my granite is called golden lapidus and DH and I love it but the delicatus would have allowed me to keep my old appliances which were white. I could have waited to replace them. Unfortunately, the white clashed with my granite so stainless is now sitting in my kitchen-smudges, fingerprints, and all!! The granite is in a category labeled Old World/Tuscan-very earthy colors-butterscotch, caramel, hot fudge brown, black, gray, some white, lots of sparkly things. When I saw the delicatus it was too late but it would have worked in my kitchen. BA is a very nice granite but I like something that's more off the beaten track. I've only seen one other kitchen with my granite on the finished kitchens web site. Haven't seen a lot of kitchens with delicatus but if you google delicatus granite it will bring up a page that has a link to an old post 08/08 talking about this granite with pics. You can see the kitchens of daki, iris16, and dd70. Good luck.

That is FABULOUS! I adore the square sink. I'm undecided whether to go with something like that (though I want an offset drain) or the Silgranit. LOVE the curve at the end of your run too!

just lovely! I'm very biased, though since I have BA as well :)

I love the curve at the end of the cabinet run and the edge you chose for your island. really pretty!

Yes, Redroze, it is 1 1/4". I'm so glad to hear you still love to look at it everyday. I find myself just staring at it!

Paintpanther--yes, planning the blacksplash is next. Now I can at least visualize it more. I am still in love with that Kraftmaid ad's backsplash--so Hollywood glam. I have a small Irish crystal chandelier for over the island. Well, it's on a hook where the old light was, so technically, it's near the new island's location. Hopefully soon to be permanently relocated to over the island.

Remodelfla-I have to admit, when I bought the sink from Overstock, I didn't even notice the drain was in the center. I was so used to seeing them offset. It worked out for me anyway because I am not one that likes to "advertise" the names of my products, and with the hole centered, I was able to turn the sink around and not see the "C-Tech.." thing that is engraved there. I really like the clean line it gives with the sharp angles.

I'm glad you like the long ogee edge on the island, mairin. When we chose it, the fabricator was so excited--he said it's his favorite for showing off the granite. Sorry the island picture is blurry. I must have still been shaking from the shock that I finally had granite in my house!

My floor is going to be a cork floor. Natural Cork's New Dimension Narrow Plank in Corte. We have been struggling if this floor will be too dark, now that the dark cabinets are in the room. We plan on spreading it out and taking a look now that the granite is in. If we opt to not use it then we can put it down in another part of the house. It is a beautiful floor.

Every time I see this granite I love it more and more! It looks terrific and I also love your big sink! The curve at the end of the run looks great too.

Your countertop is beautful but I really love your BIG sink. Can you tell me if the granite is flushed with your sink or was it installed with a slight positive or negative overhang?

Love the granite. I wish I could say my Raven Caesarstone countertops were installed without a hitch but I can't. I'm looking at a possible tear out. Installation errors.

The sink you have looks just like mine. Is it the Franke Pro PSX 11030? I got the 12 inch model and it's like a bathtub!

I just got home from work and was able to look at my granite again..ahhhh.

Anyway--the sink is just about flush with the granite. The granite is ever so slightly overhanging the sink, less than a 1/16".

The sink is a Ticor. I ordered it from Overstock.

Looks great. Your installers did just right with that slight overhang on the sink (otherwise, all the gunk is trapped in the sealant and you can see it).

Wow!! Gorgeous, GORGEOUS granite! (Swoon ...) It makes me want to rethink my whole kitchen plan. I can't wait to see your finished kitchen. It will be beautiful.
