Does anyone have an induction cooktop that does NOT buzz or click
Comments (35)We have our first induction cooktop, a Wolf, after cooking exclusively on gas. the cooktop does not make the very annoying noise, but certain pans do. We have only Le Creuset and All Clad, both of which we were told were recommended for induction cooktops. No sound from the Le Creuset, but certain All Clad pans seem to be worse than others. In our experience the frying pans are the worst. Heavier pots and saucepans not as much. And, for whatever reason, one particular non stick pan was the worst of all, so we stopped using it because it was THAT ANNOYING....See MoreRosacea anyone?
Comments (9)Yes, I was diagnosed with rosacea, during a visit with a dermatologist for something else entirely about 20 years ago. In my case, all that was visible was a "thumbprint" on each cheek that was slightly darker than the rest of my face and a few non-colored bumps on my nose. I was as stunned as you seem to be. After a round of antibiotics, I was prescribed a cream, then years later Metrogel, and told to use it whether or not I was having an episode, as a preventative. Several years ago, my dermatologist said there was no sign of the rosacea, but I continued to use the gel anyway. This past year my dermatologist said to discontinue the gel and I've had no return of symptoms. Try to avoid anything that makes you flush. For me, this includes heat (yeah, sun's bad, but the heat itself can be a problem), extreme cold, alcohol, and certain foods, especially spicy ones. Be careful what you use on your skin and avoid cosmetics with fragrance or certain other ingredients (you'll have to figure out which ones cause a reaction in you; I avoid silicone/dimethicone, etc). Baby your skin. Clean your eye make-up off religiously and follow with a warm, not hot, wet washrag, with a little baby shampoo if you want. Assuming you do have it -- did you ask the dermatologist in so many words? -- you're lucky it was caught early. Mine never progressed beyond what the doctor first saw, aside from occasional flare-ups. My nose bumps went away -- what a relief, since I had visions of ending up like W. C. Field! Are you very fair? There is one theory that fair people get it more often, another that it is simply more easily diagnosed on them, like rouge on Casper the Friendly Ghost....See MoreDoes anyone have painted white cabinets that have held up?
Comments (39)With regard to Thermofoil option: Yikes! I have yet to see a high quality option. The product is basically a sheet of plastic, printed to look either like wood or a high gloss lacquer. The MDF or particle board door is shaped and then a heater is applied to shape the sheet of plastic over the top and around the sides of the face. It is cooled and cut off along the back edge. Any cabinet next to an oven or dishwasher, will have issues. Period. Over time the sides tend to delaminate and you will get lifting and loose looking edges. Eventually they rip. Trying to match one, if something breaks a door is very difficult and expensive. If your cabinet line offers a free touch up kit- that is wonderful! Just imagine that when your counter top is being installed, they accidentally bump a door face. This is not a warning of an inferior finish- it is a thoughtful manufacturer....See MoreDoes Anyone Have THIS Datura? And Have Seed For Sale/Trade?
Comments (3)The 'Box Of Chocolate' seeds I bought, have finally just germinated, over the past 4 days. So I have a few of each of the 5 different varieties of 'BOC' datura plants. 'Purple Lace', 'Purple Confusion', 'E', and 'Purple Specks', and 'Tri-Color' At least they are up and starting to grow. I STILL cant get Double Yellow datura seeds!!! I pay for them, and pay for them, and I keep getting the double purple/white ones. The last pack of seeds i bought, all of 10 seeds, for $3,...i planted them all and after 3 weeks, none came up! I uncovered them and not a root tip in sight. But my 'BOC' ones came up in about 9 days. I told the seller this, and he SAYS he sent me replacement ones,...3 weeks ago...from GA.! I have opened a case against him on EBay, and I STILL dont have the double yellow ones! Cant trust anyone on EBay to send me these double yellow ones. I give up....See More- 9 years ago
