No group think. Worm herders are very independent-minded people. A lot of the time, commercial worm bin selection is dictated by what's available - the Worm Factory seems to be the most widely marketed system. That's what I currently use. In the past, I had a Can O Worms bin. Both are fine. I've also used homemade bins but wasn't very satisfied with my own efforts.

I've only had my current Worm Factory for a year, since moving into my current home which has plenty of basement space for worm operations. In retrospect, I wish I had looked into other bins on the market a little more carefully before I bought this Worm Factory, because flow-through worm bins have come on the market in recent years that I think are interesting and I might have tried one of those; possibly a Worm Inn. The idea of flow-through bins is that harvesting is supposed to be much easier. Some people swear by them, but others have more mixed reports. There are also various DIY flow-through designs out there. You will find out more as you read the past posts on this board.

I also am using the factory 360 system, great system, been using it 4 yrs. Before that I had homemade ones that did ok and produced castings but there were some problems in the long run and ditched those. Some people dont use the factory system correctly and stick with only using 1 or 2 trays. I currently am using 6 trays with the idea that by the time the top/feeding by the time it reaches the bottom is finished. If there are still a few worms in the harvest tray I dont fret about that they will go in my holding bucket since I have thousands of worms , started with just 1 lb = 1000 worms. If you do the first tray correctly and worms are happy provided you keep it going in that manner you should have no problem as you add trays.
