Yoo-Hoo to Miss Purplemoon!!
Comments (14)Thank ALL of you so much, it means a lot to me. Jeanne, I love the old-timey card. Jan, you are right, I had myself in a panic thinking I was having heart symptoms due to how and where the pain was hitting. (I suffer anxiety attacks occasionally and am my own worse enemy!!) My side is feeling much better, and I am being ultra careful for the next few weeks with just regular stuff. Guess I better be careful from now on, tho its hard to remember NOT to do stuff at times. I am lucky, if Dad falls on the floor, my youngest son Jason, is less than 10 min away at his office. and less than 5 min. from his house. He can lift Dad right up like he was a ragdoll. LOL. Jas is 6'3" and strong as can be. Oh, the reason I haven't mentioned my DH helping me with the lifting is HE's been seeing a back specialist the last few weeks and can't lift right now. Just recently he's gotten those spinal injections and that's helped him a lot but lifting isn't a good idea. Plus he and Dad about same size. Of course Fred's back problems have NOTHING to do with him playing golf, LOL. So he still plays 6 days a week. Its probably a good thing he's not incapacitated and on required rest, I'd probably have to shoot him! LOL. Sherri, one of the problems with me trying to get any decent sleep and rest is the Fibro has worsened so much that even my soft mattress feels like its full of rocks at times. I can't stand ANY pressure on my body without it causing from an ache to a major pain. Have to keep a pillow between my knees, as them resting on one another is excruciating. Sitting can be hard, even tho I have a special soft pillow on this chair, as it kills the back of my legs. So resting is difficult. LOL. Think I've become a Zombie, so look out. hugs, Karen...See MoreYoo hoo, Ginny12... are you here?
Comments (3)Yes, I'm still here but never saw this. It was great to hear from you and sorry for the belated reply. I'm not adding much to my garden these days--it is packed and mostly shady so I am limited in my options. But thanks so much for thinking of me. And hello to all my longtime friends here....See MoreYoo Hoo Bill? Can you please look at this tile job?
Comments (8)I'm not Bill but I like looking at tile jobs. I can see where she'd be disappointed but I think that if she could carefully pry off the tiles that make the vertical part of the border outside of the liner (away from the field) and replaces those with subway tile turned vertically so that it looks like there is a continuous "border" that wraps around the liner rather than a discontinuity between the field on the inside of the border and the field on the outside of the border, it would look okay. It may not be exactly what she envisioned but I think it would still look intentional. It's still not 100% ideal to have that top course of tile cut the way it is but I could probably live with that as long as the border didn't look so piecey....See MoreYoo hoo, anybody home?
Comments (4)As someone who works on these things, I can tell you...the more things you want the appliance to do, the more things that can (and do) go wrong and the more it will cost to have it fixed. Your frustration concerning the choices of days passed and equipment these days extends right to the repair company. Where I used to keep in stock maybe 75 parts, I now have to keep 250. And with newer models every year, newer circuit boards and digital parts come along with that and adding to the stock goes up. As for extended warranties, I am very honest with my customers. If they use surge protectors where possible, the circuit boards (very costly part) have a higher survival rate and just as mentioned above, there are more frugal ways to get extended protection. You will be hard pressed to find a cost effective extended warranty that goes beyond 5 years. If you have an extended warranty, read it closely and you may find that there is a fixed amount allowed for the product within a fixed (usually 5 year) period. Each time you take advantage of the warranty, that fixed amount diminishes. One call for a logic part can come close to depleting that amount. It is true that most failures due to marginal parts will happen in the first or second year. But, just use and abuse takes it's toll over time. When I say abuse, understand I mean unintentional abuse. Opening and closing a door can cause a handle to come loose over time. That opening and closing is considered abuse, though non intentional. This is an electronic world and electronic parts are very touchy and have a very fixed expected life cycle....See MoreOkiedawn OK Zone 7
