UPDATE: Theme Garden Swap, Final Update
Comments (114)Second round rec'd today - thanks so much Kim! This should just about take care of the final few jugs of wintersowing I had left; very ready to be done with it :-). Will get the stamps out to you ASAP. For all the gripes I have with the PO, they did manage to get them here durn quickly I think, and for that I thank them; and I thoroughly understand, Kim... I'm not good with numbers myself... words yes, numbers no way. ;-) Re the move, Kim and stage_rat, that's just been a dream of mine for 20+ years... not going to happen any time soon (if ever). Yes, need to let things settle here I guess; I do tend to cut and run when things get bad (or just turn my music up really loud). My mom and dad moved 80 miles away several years ago (to get out of the city), and now my mom tells me I can't move to Oregon until *they* die... (???!!!) lol. This from the woman who moved away from her whole family in PA to *TX* and then eventually to *MO*. lolol. And she's only half kidding when she says I have to wait. Sooooo, here's hoping I survive long enough to move to Oregon. :-) Anywho, thanks for the kind words, and again thanks for the great swap and the great seeds. Best wishes to all. Comments (29)Robin, I am so sorry about your Dad and Julian, hope they are both better. Sounds like you have not had a very good day. When I tore into my package the first thing I saw was the colander, it is beautiful and will sit on my counter until needed and I will use it. You couldn't know how many times I have thought about ordering the ramekins, those are just perfect gifts for me! I love the microplane, just makes the one I bought look like, well what it is, a hand held grater. You know how much I will use the ladle, I am really excited about it, how handy and canning season is getting close! I said I would let DH claim the strawberry jam, well it is already almost gone, it is so good. I don't make strawberry jam, strawberries don't grow to well here. Vermont Maple grade B syrup, if you haven't tried it then you don't know what you are missing. I don't think I have ever tasted anything like it. I thought I had bought Vermont maple syrup, but it didn't taste anything like this. It is wonderful, I think I could drink it out of the can. Thank you again, Robin!...See MoreFinally got a tart pan

Enough filling to make two pies/tarts Home Cookin Chapter: Recipes From Thibeault's Table White Chocolate Cream cheese Raspberry Tart =========================================== Shortbread Tart Pastry ====================== 1 cup butter, room temperature 1/2 cup Icing sugar (powdered sugar) 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour Place the flour and icing sugar in the bowl of a food processor. Cut the butter into pieces and add to the bowl. Using the pulse function process the mixture until it forms a ball. White Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling 8 ounces white chocolate melted (I melt in the microwave on medium low heat in 20 to 30 second intervals) Stir in between. Chocolate should not be hot. 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature 2 large eggs 1 cup heavy cream 1/2 white sugar 2 to 3 teaspoons vanilla extract Fresh Raspberries (enough filling for two pies) Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare the crust first. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces and place in the bottom of a tart pan with removeable bottom. Using your fingers pat the dough evenly along the sides and bottom of the pan. Prick with a fork and put in the freezer for 15 minutes. Prick again. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until crust is golden. Check after the first 6 or 7 minutes and if the pastry is rising up, flatten gently with a fork. Remove from oven and let cool on a rack. Lower the temperature to 350°F Filling Beat the cream cheese with sugar until soft and creamy. Add the eggs and continue to beat. Beat in melted white chocolate, cream and vanilla. Decorate tart shell with raspberries. Slowly pour the cream cheese filling around the berries. Bake for approximately 25 to 30 minutes or until the filling is set. Let cool on rack. Comments (29)Jodie - I love those sconces! Where are they from? How fun and different?? Maybe I will keep them in mind for the dining room. Just to clarify - the wallpaper in the bedroom photo is a different color than the one we selected. AprilNeverEnds - thank you for all the options! I am not sure on width - what makes sense in this space? I love the modern look of the first one, but I should have mentioned I have 4 year old twins that use this powder room more often than I prefer and their cute little fingerprints would constantly be all over the chrome / mirror vanity. I love the clean looks of all the options you picked. The last option is spooky and definitely in theme with this month ;) We want to stay under $600 if possible because this redo is part of a much larger home transformation so saving pennies where we can. As for why recessed and not a flushmount - I prefer a much more sleek clean look overall and I didn't want too much going on with cool sconces and an overhead light fixture. Also - I struggle to make decisions and didn't want one more thing I had to pick out and coordinate with overall design of powder room. We currently have flushmounts throughout our home hallways and I struggled to find something that would coordinate with out entry foyer. In the end we have decided to convert all of those to simple sleek recessed lights....See MoreMy3dogs ME zone 5A
