That Was Then: This is Now

last modified: 7 years ago

After an unusually warm winter, everything that blooms early started its' bloom cycle.

Bridal Wreath Spirea:

Dutch Iris:

Azaleas:
(Still mostly buds...and then the late freeze, two nights with well above freezing days.)

Japanese Magnolia Tree:

The freeze killed off all of the above blooms.

Today some bloom is happening now:

Some Later Dutch Iris:

Snow Ball Trees (a few azaleas blooms are happening, but no beautiful show)
Candytuft (which was totally unfazed by the freeze)
(I love Candytuft and have it in several places in my garden.)

And now, I am ready for the show to begin: The beds are weeded and groomed.
