framing an odd size poster-need ideas
Comments (5)Ditto to what BBSTX wrote -- Michael's has them, ACMoore has them. They now also come in wood and not just metal. But be aware you'll need to get a piece of Foamcore and also get glass cut to size (I'd just get regular glass, as opposed to museum, unless you will be hanging this where there is sun). Plexiglass or a similar but thinner acrylic is available, too. You can also find these component frame kits online. Simple to put together. I have them all over my house. (For ballpark pricing, over at the Jerry's Artorama website, which I've ordered these from before, a Nielsen wood 30x30 frame would run you $38, plus you'd need some backing material -- cardboard or foamcore -- and either glass or plexi. A Nielsen aluminum frame would be $28. There are a few wood colors to choose from and a few metal colors to choose from. Nielsen is a very good line, but compare the prices with the in-house brands Michaels and other crafts stores and framing shops sell.) Another option is Ikea, if there's one near you. It tends to stock unusual frame sizes. And yet another: Do you want to go really modern with this? A "Posterhanger" -- 2 slender aluminum tubes that slide over the top and the bottom of the poster. There's a hole in the backside of the top rod to grab a nail in the wall. There's nothing covering the rest of the poster itself. The one for your size will run about $20. (Sometimes I want to buy a poster just to try the Posterhanger!)...See MoreCustom framing quote...yowza!!! would love to hear your thoughts
Comments (28)Because the print means so much to you, it's worth it to get exactly the frame you want without repainting or making do, especially if you don't like the profile of the moulding. A decent frame can only enhance it and you'll always love it. My brother used to own two frameshops and always framed items for me at cost with no labor charges. Because he bought quality supplies, was, himself, a perfectionist, and I could get very nice frames with the discount, they still cost as much as retail. Since then, I've had numerous prints and original paintings framed at Hobby Lobby and found they were more reasonable than Michael's and have been totally pleased. It's kinda like the cost of eyeglass frames, without the glass-it's hard to explain the huge difference in cost for basically, plastic frames....See MoreBaseboard Diffuser - Odd Size, Can I Install 2 Standard Size

Comments (8)They are 9 ft ceilings with no crown on them. I can see how adding vertical lines would make it feel taller, draw your eye up and more board and batten to fit the style of the house. This is the formal dining room off the front door but I’ll be puting my upright piano and a couple of chairs or couch depending on size instead of a table. We have a breakfast nook with extendable table and off that a sunroom screened in that we’ll be putting another table for outdoor dining so we can eat without bugs bothering us....See MoreMtnRdRedux
