buzz2, It's common to use 6x6 on roman style pools. If the radius is small, it's accepted practice to halve the tiles. The only problem that comes to mind is keeping water from getting behind the tile. This should be easily accomplished in any case. Other problems exist when using 2x2 or 3x3 tiles, particularly if you are pouring a cantilever deck.

Pebble Tec does not have any tiles. When it comes to selecting tiles I tell my clients two things due to the hard water and evaporation here in the desert. The less grout the better IE the larger 6x6 tiles. These larger tiles used to be an upgrade but now there are many in the standard #1 & #2 groups. Fujiwa carries some nice lines. The second thing is color and finish. We get a lot of scale buildup and you will see it a lot sooner and it will look worse on darker color tiles,(black is the worst.The smooth shiny finish tiles look more offensive with a scale buildup than the textured finish tiles or stone. Get some samples and check the hardness of the glaze by trying to scrape it off with the corner of a small screwdriver. With a good glazed tile you will just see gray on the tile where the metal came off the screwdriver tip where you scraped it. Caribbean Blue is out #1 selling P/T color. If you look at the colors of the pebbles themselves you will see that they will tie into a lot of natural colors of tile.

I agree with japb. Most pools in Fla. have a cantilever deck that sits on the beam of the pool. The joint is commonly called a stegmeier joint but other terms have been used. This joint is usually filled with a product specifically designed for this type of joint. Do not use the self leveling products here, they will run down the tile and make a mess. Finding photos of particular looks can be difficult. Sometimes one lucks out, but often the search just doesn't find anything helpful. All I can say is try different search engines. Bring up another tab and type in a different from what you usually use search engine name. I have used Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Ask.com, and Yahoo. Wikipedia has a LIST of others. After the search page opens type in a simple search like pool tile selections or pool waterline and stair trim tile. Then choose Images to get photos. I can't guarantee this will get what you are looking for. Sometimes you have to play with the wording. Also, companies that sell tile sometimes have a Gallery where they show off pools with their tile. Here is ONE and here is ANOTHER. I noticed that some pools had tile set into underwater steps to highlight them. Perhaps you can do something like that to your entry/exit points that set them off and still work with the rest of your tile. Good Luck.
